About the Role: The Senior Multimedia Designer at Wave will play a key role in telling our brand story and achieving our marketing objectives. You will collaborate with marketing team members, key internal stakeholders, and external agencies to develop and execute assets that effectively convey our purpose, products, and impact on the lives of small business owners through various channels and platforms, including our website, ads and landing pages, communications platform, social media, and others as needed. Key to our marketing efforts, you will work closely with the Creative Lead, Senior Copywriter, Marketing Project Manager, and external design agencies and freelancers to ensure project objectives are clear and your output is on-brand, tells a compelling story, and achieves specified marketing and communication objectives. Your proven ability to consistently interpret and educate others on our brand guidelines, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and provide clear feedback to creative team members will be instrumental in helping us keep a team of internal and external designers aligned.

Your tasks will include:

    • Brand Consistency - Understand and adhere to brand guidelines and accessibility best practices, and ensure they are implemented consistently in all creative materials. Serve as a ‘brand enforcer’ and help educate stakeholders on the effective use of brand materials. Help maintain up-to-date brand guidelines, and contribute to the creation and maintenance of templates and documentation for internal and external teams.
    • Digital Ads and Landing Pages - Work closely with the Product Optimization, Paid Media, and Content teams (+ ideally leverage AI) to ideate, design, iterate, repurpose, and optimize on-brand, user-friendly, and performant digital ads and landing pages that convert, ensuring compatibility across various platforms and devices.
    • Graphic Media Creation - Develop and/or repurpose on-brand graphics, illustrations, and other design elements for digital and some print media. Experiment with new mediums and technologies including AI, and stay informed of the latest trends and tools—particularly as they pertain to enabling a small creative team scale effectively.
    • Video Editing - Collaborate with external resources and the marketing team to create and/or edit videos for brand-building, promotional, instructional, and informational purposes. Incorporate innovative video techniques to enhance content quality and production efficiency. Work with external vendors and media partners to obtain raw footage of live-action video when necessary, and occasionally incorporate stock b-roll.
    • Animation - Design and produce animated content, like motion graphics, animated PowerPoint/Slides, explainer shorts, and interactive multimedia elements. Bring static designs to life through animation to increase asset performance.
    • Design Foundation Building - Contribute to the creation and ongoing improvement of systems, processes, and documentation—like libraries, guidelines, a DAM, and onboarding materials—that will enable marketing, product, and external design teams to remain aligned and consistent for the sake of our brand presence and audience journey.
    • Process Optimization - Leverage critical thinking and discussions with Marketing Ops to spot opportunities for workflow efficiencies using new and existing tools, including AI, to enable us to scale production at pace with the business’s growing needs. Establish personal QA tactics in addition to integrating with the overall ops process to test every asset for functionality and accuracy before delivery.

    • Consistent + Efficient Creative Production - Streamline processes to ensure on-brand and on-budget visual content.
    • Product Comprehension + Appeal - Enhance the understanding and appeal of Wave's products through compelling and clear visual assets.

You'll thrive here by possessing the following:

    • Broad Range of Design Experiences - Demonstrable ability to translate marketing objectives into performant design solutions. Ideally, experience in start-ups or fast-paced environments as a designer, with at least 4+ years in the industry.
    • Technical Skills - Advanced proficiency in Figma, including experience maintaining design systems. Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, especially After Effects or similar animation tools to bring Figma UI assets to life. Strong video editing skills.
    • Time Management Skills - Comfortable ensuring your understanding of marketing and business priorities and intentionally managing your time and projects accordingly, ultimately delivering high-quality work on time.
    • Foundational Understanding of Front-End Development - Basic knowledge of front-end development to ensure design feasibility and collaboration with developers when needed.
    • Data-Driven Decision Making - Ability to base opinions, thoughts, and creative recommendations on data and learnings, and convey them clearly to stakeholders and team members.
    • Attention to Detail + QA - Obsession with details + personal QA processes to ensure quality output, along with an admiration for magical audience experiences.
    • Comfortable in Ambiguity - Ability to pivot and prioritize amid shifting deadlines, WIP processes, and trade-offs while moving forward toward the bigger, strategic goal.
    • Highly-Collaborative, While Embracing Accountability - Experience working closely with cross-functional team members. Owning your part in initiatives, embracing the fear of failure, and reflecting on how to improve.
    • Self-Driven - Comfort with the uncomfortable and willingness to always be learning and adapting to get the job done.
