Job Description

BuildZoom is a rapidly growing tech company, dramatically improving the construction process and results. Over the past year, we managed over $400M in construction projects and are on pace to double this year. The Preconstruction Advisor plays a vital role at BuildZoom. You will help guide clients through the pre construction process on their residential new build, residential remodel, and TI projects. Most often, your client’s scope and budget will not be aligned. You will be responsible for understanding the client’s goal for their project, and helping them accomplish that goal by utilizing creative problem solving to overcome scope/budget misalignment issues. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a book of business, and will be comfortable working on many projects at one time. Our managed service is explained in more detail here: https://www.buildzoom.com/premium Compensation starts at $65,000 base. Additional Project Bonus commission is paid on a monthly basis.

Preconstruction Advisor Responsibilities

    • First and foremost, work as an advocate for your clients; navigate them through design, implementation, and budgetary challenges
    • Analyze drawings, plans, and requirements to develop a full understanding of the project
    • Build a strong relationship with the client and communicate consistently through the process
    • Customize and send construction and architectural RFPs to vendors, and work with them through the bidding process
    • Represent the client through negotiation and value engineering
    • Provide consistently great service while managing multiple projects
    • Overcome hurdles to keep projects moving forward in an efficient manner while instilling confidence for the client

Preconstruction Advisor Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required, bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or other relevant majors preferred
    • 2+ years of construction experience in operations/project management, estimating, and purchasing preferred
    • First-rate communication and customer-relations skills
    • High level of attention to detail and understanding of building science principles
    • Ability to manage a multitude of projects while maintaining high standards
