Cost Basis Process Improvement Analyst

Job Description

The Cost Basis Team has an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Process Improvement Analyst! In this new role, you will serve as a Cost Basis expert to help continue to improve processes both at Vanguard and our Cost Basis vendor.

Ideal candidates will possess Cost Basis acumen and will serve as a primary contact in contingency scenarios to help determine how to resolve issues and execute fixes. The Process Improvement Analyst will be expected to ensure all processes are documented, create/update standard works and drive process improvement for critical Cost Basis processes to mitigate risk. This cross site team of Cost Basis experts is excited to invite a full time member to document and focus on process improvements to reduce risk and improve the crew and client experience!

This role is based out of Vanguard’s Malvern, PA or Scottsdale, AZ offices and follows a hybrid working model.

In this role you will:

1. Apply process definition, improvement, and design methodologies to

Identify, analyze, and improve business processes to improve oversight, controls, quality, reduce costs, increase efficiencies/productivity, increase customer satisfaction, etc.

2. Concatenate process improvement data and use key metrics to measure outcomes.

3. Identify process improvement opportunities and support from inception through implementation ensuring deadlines are met. Define scope and requirements, establish timelines, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.

4. Develop documentation to support analysis and improvement including business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, and gap/problem analyses.

5. Develop and manage effective working relationships with internal clients and key stakeholders.

6. Support the development of training and/or change management materials and activities to support new processes and procedures.

7. Coordinate follow-up meetings for project teams using process improvement tools to ensure work is completed and improvements are maintained. Support the planning and implementation of quality assurance and compliance processes at Vanguard and our cost basis vendor.

8. Provide assistance for regulated and monitored activities.

9. Support Cost Basis remediation efforts and serves as lead Cost Basis experts during contingency events.

10. Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it takes:

• Minimum of three years Cost Basis experience with progressive responsibility required.
• Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience required.
• Process improvement certification (i.e. McKinsey Lean training, Six Sigma certification) preferred.
• Demonstrated history of problem solving and process improvement.
• Ability to manage stakeholders as well as complex situations.
• Experience navigating cost basis vendors , preferred.
