About Us
We are a world-class visitor attraction and leading science research centre. We use the Museum's unique collections and our unrivalled expertise to tackle the biggest challenges facing the world today. We care for more than 80 million objects spanning billions of years and welcome more than five million visitors annually and 16 million visits to our website.

Today the Museum is more relevant and influential than ever. By attracting people from a range of backgrounds to work for us, we can continue to look at the world with fresh eyes and find new ways of doing things.

We employ 900 staff in a variety of roles, all united by our vision of a future where people and planet thrive. We need everyone to have the passion and drive to help us with our mission to create advocates for our planet and inspire millions to care about the natural world.

Diversity and inclusion matter to us.

Our vision is of a future where both people and the planet thrive. Diversity is one of our core values and we strive to build a workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging. All new staff who join us learn about the importance of diversity and inclusion to the Museum and how to contribute to creating an inclusive environment.

We know we have more to do, but we are committed to ensuring that everyone who works at the Museum feels they can thrive and feel valued and respected.

About the role

We are delivering the National Education Nature Park and Climate Action Awards, which aim to empower children and young people to make a positive difference to both their own and nature’s future.

This free programme provides educators with the resources, support and guidance needed to put nature at the heart of education. Embedding biodiversity and climate within everyday teaching and learning will give every child and young person in England the opportunity to develop a meaningful connection to nature, contribute to nature recovery across the country and build resilience for a changing world.

Having launched in October 2023 with a large library of curriculum linked resources, guidance for educators and innovative new activities that support children and young people to participate fully in the Nature Park process, the programme is moving to a new phase of continuous improvement and expansion of provision.

This role will strategically plan, recruit and manage the work of contactors and/or a small team whose primary focus is on further developing and curating our suite of quality assured curriculum-linked resources and educator guidance, led by best practice in climate pedagogy. This will complement climate education by providing opportunities to turn knowledge into practical, positive action. The resources span Early Years to Key Stage 5 and multiple subject areas.

About you

As a passionate advocate for inclusive climate and biodiversity education in schools, you will have experience of developing and delivering curriculum linked learning activities for formal educational settings. A deep understanding of and commitment to evidence-based pedagogy is key to the role.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form and maintain good relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. As well as an in-depth knowledge of the National Curriculum for England, awareness of the wider education landscape and government policy in education and/or environment will be useful.

Understanding of co-design approaches for learning activity development as well as an understanding of best practice in monitoring and evaluation will be an advantage.

Please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of the role and its requirements.
