Web Performance Engineer

We’re looking for an engineer who’s eager to take the next big step in their career and help us build Framer. Framer helps you design professional websites without a frontend team. Use the freeform unlimited canvas to express creative ideas and ship with a single click. Perfect for startups, scale-ups, agencies and freelancers that need to ship the highest quality sites on a deadline.

Overview

As a Web Performance Engineer, you’ll work on ensuring a high level of performance of the Framer product and the sites created with Framer. You find bottlenecks in our code and our architecture. You’re using experiments and data to proof your improvements. You’ll write code that’s clean and maintainable and prioritize speed, memory and output code size.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain a highly performant tool that creates highly performant websites
• Propose new, efficient approaches to performance in line with our product vision
• Mentor other engineers to help them grow their skillsets
• Help our team to grow by supporting our recruitment efforts
• Do the best work of your career and work normal hours

Your background

• At least 5+ years of experience working as a software engineer with a focus on performance optimization
• Experience developing and implementing performance tests and experiments
• Deeply understanding of the JavaScript ecosystem
• Experience with optimizing browser performance in all aspects (memory, CPU, GPU)
