THE ROLE: The Engineering IT Specialist – Product Solutions role is a member of the Product Management and Development team, and responsible for information technology platforms and products that support Xylem’s proprietary Water and Energy Sector infrastructure condition assessment services. In this role, the incumbent will also participate in the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the networking, hardware, and software that comprise Xylem’s various technology platforms and products. Technology, tools, and data are the major pillars that enable Xylem’s ability to reach global markets and provide customers with a sustainable solution for the maintenance of critical infrastructure. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Maintain internal and client-facing on-premises and cloud server infrastructure
  • Perform installation, deployment, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of designated systems and software solutions
  • Follow designated processes, procedures, and best practices to manage systems and software to ensure consistent and reliable operation that meet the business needs
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues and/or respond to outages; provide end-user on-call support
  • Apply an IT security first mindset using existing directives and best practices
  • Learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques with the support of senior team members and management
  • Work with Hardware and Software Engineering teams assisting in the design and development of IT infrastructure for new and existing hardware systems and software solutions
  • Work independently and proficiently on smaller tasks while engaging and collaborating in a team environment on larger tasks and projects
  • Maintain system documentation of processes, procedures, plans, and configurations
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based on organization needs

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Demonstrated knowledge in Information Technology encompassed by a relevant bachelor’s degree or diploma from a University, College, or Polytechnic, or relevant experience
  • 2-3 years’ experience working as an Information Technology Professional
  • Hands on experience configuring and maintaining Windows Servers; Windows Server 2019/2022 experience preferred
  • Experience working with cloud systems (Azure or AWS); Azure experience preferred
  • Experience configuring Windows Services such as Active Directory, IIS, and ARR
  • Experience installing and configuring Microsoft SQL Server or equivalent database
  • Experience building personal computers or servers, and configuring routers and switches
  • Demonstrated proficiency with written and verbal communication in English

DAY IN THE LIFE:

In this role, the working environment is hybrid, comprised of remote work from home along with work in an office, warehouse, or rural/urban outdoor setting. Use of appropriate PPE (e.g. hardhat, coveralls, steel toe boots) is required depending on the working location and task, and the physical demands may include but not limited to regularly sitting, standing, and lifting computer/server equipment. In addition, this role may require 10% travel to offices and field installation sites, and will require after-hours and weekend work, on an as needed basis, as a regular part of the job.

SALARY :

Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
