This role will require a creative thinker with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the social media landscape, and experience engaging technical and developer audiences.

In this role, you will report to the Head of Global Public Relations. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to curate and craft compelling content on social media that shape and enhance Snowflake's reputation, influence the narrative around AI/ML data-driven innovation for both Snowflake and our customers, and drive the company's success with key audiences.

If you are a strategic thinker who possess exceptional communication skills and has a passion for data and AI/ML technology, we invite you to join us on this journey to mobilize the world’s data.

AS THE DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL MEDIA YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Global Social Media Strategies: Develop and oversee the implementation of a cohesive global social media strategy that translates AI/ML and other developer-centric technology innovations into campaigns, messaging, and compelling stories for Snowflake’s core social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Youtube, Reddit etc.) Content Creation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Marketing, Community, Demand Generation, Public Relations and global stakeholders to create and curate engaging content that drives strategic business priorities across social media platforms, ensuring consistency in messaging and branding. Influencer relations: Target and activate key audience influencers across core social media platforms; driving both influencer and employee advocacy strategies for Snowflake. Competitive Analysis and Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key social media metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of campaigns, and make data-driven decisions. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and relevant news to ensure the brand's social media presence remains competitive and compelling.

  • Identify New Opportunities: Stay up-to-date with platform updates, algorithm changes, and emerging tools. Identify untapped opportunities across new and existing channels (YouTube, Reddit, Threads, etc.)

OUR IDEAL HEAD OF SOCIAL MEDIA WILL HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of proven experience in social media management and content marketing in-house or at an agency.
  • Expertise in various social media platforms across paid, earned, and owned channels, with a track record of developing successful campaigns that drive engagement and growth.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, rapid-growth environment - ideally with a focus on enterprise software, data, and cloud technology.
  • Established leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of developer communities, their preferences, and communication styles with the ability to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, track KPIs, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Experience with crisis management and handling sensitive situations on social media.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $138,000 - $192,100.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.

Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
