Job Description

We currently have an opportunity available in our Mumbai office for an SAP Security Architect to provide technical operational and architectural support across our global SAP suite of applications including but not limited to: SAP S4HANA, SAP BW4HANA, BPC, SAP SLT, SAP Fiori, and SAP Access Control Suite v12, Concur, and Ariba.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Security/Compliance COE Lead based in LA (IT Compliance Enablement POA), this position will work in conjunction with the SAP functional and technical support teams, designing, developing, and implementing security across various modules which are integrated with multiple financial systems and other IT applications. The role also involves understanding of the enterprise-wide IT landscape with focus on improving efficiency and effectiveness of various processes and ultimately contributing to a positive user experience. We are therefore seeking a leader with hands-on experience in technical SAP application security architecture, operational support, and an eye for automation who is able to integrate various solutions (SAP & non-SAP) to achieve this goal. Understanding of IT general controls and SOX requirements is a must as this position will be closely integrated with IT compliance functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Core job responsibilities, including estimated percentage of time spent on each, are as following:

35% Provide technical project, architecture, and operational support to monitor, maintain, improve user access processes; design, build, test, and deploy system security for production and non-production systems: S4HANA, BW4HANA, SLT, Fiori, Ariba On Premise, Ariba On Demand, Concur, and other applications integrated with the SAP suite.

25% Provide technical project, architecture, and operational support to monitor, maintain, design, configure, develop, test and deploy functions related to SAP GRC Access Control v12 such as SOD / Sensitive Access rules and workflow rules using BRF+ rule engine. Perform SOD analysis, manage remediation, and mitigation process. Act as a liaison between IT and business to define solutions for remediating risks and potential policy violations.

15% Provide IT compliance support, execute IT general controls, maintain SOX process narratives, update policies and procedure documents. Support internal and external auditors as well as corporate financial compliance teams during audits.

15% Working closely with enterprise-wide IT support teams to ensure seamless integration of the process and interfaces between IDM, ServiceNow, and SAP, and other systems to manage terminations, hires, and transfers, etc.

5% Overall performance monitoring tuning and evaluating security patches and technical notes related to security across all SAP environments. Identify, analyze, test, coordinate installation, and verification between SAP Security and SAP Basis teams, document and resolve application issues as it relates to security notes and patches.

5% Assist in managing contractor workforce.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in computer science, information technology, computer engineering or related field.
  • Advance hands-on SAP experience and expert knowledge of security concepts related to S4HANA, BW4, BPC, HANA database, Fiori, Concur, Ariba.
  • In-depth and cross-functional understanding of the design, development, and support of these applications which are integrated with multiple other non-SAP products across the IT landscape.
  • In depth understanding of SAP security and regulatory SOX requirements.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and controls critical to the processes and standards required for successful IT project implementations and subsequent audit testing.
  • Ability to ensure compliance requirements are met while business and IT users have necessary access to perform their job responsibilities.
  • In depth understanding of ever-changing digital landscape with ability to adapt and advance application infrastructure.
  • Strong communication skills - verbal, written, listening and presentation.
  • Ability to work with business customers to define requirements and apply technology and process improvements.
  • Experience in working effectively as part of an international team.
  • Desire and ability to work across several technologies and cross functional teams – must be a good collaborator.
  • Strong self-starter, able to lead people, take initiatives and action.
  • Quick learner with ability to work under limited supervision and seek assistance where necessary.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours to ensure overlap with US time zone.
