Systems Administrator Lead

The Opportunity:Â Â

What if you could use your hardware and software skills to improve the technology supporting signal analysis tools? With so much relying on complex systems, a skilled systems administrator can be the difference that makes a project successful. We’re looking for a systems administrator with Linux expertise and experience in SVN, Active Directory, VMware, and virtual environments to maintain and troubleshoot system software, maintain integrity of systems, and configure network components.

As a systems administrator on our project, you’ll support the signals analysis tool suite software development environment and support tool development, testing, deployment, and version control. You’ll help customers overcome the challenges that come with tool creation and modernization. You’ll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations and servers, including virtual, Cloud, and web servers, in support of business processing requirements. You'll perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. You'll schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Your technical expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical network. Your experience and communication skills will come in handy as you guide your clients through migration planning and implementation. This is an opportunity to broaden your skillset into areas like virtualization. As a technical leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to modernize the network to help your customers meet their needs. You Have:Â

  • 10+ years of experience as a systems administrator with Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with Cisco networking components and te chnology
  • Experience with creating documentation to outline processes and procedures
  • Experience with VMware and virtual environments
  • Experience with installing, configuring, optimizing and securing network components
  • Knowledge of systems and network security, auditing, and user authentication
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics or 15+ years of experience in systems administration in lieu of a degree
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification

Nice If You Have:Â

  • Experience with developing and maintaining virtualized network infrastructure
  • Experience with UNIX, Windows, and Storage administration experience
  • Experience with telecommunications equipment
  • Experience with STE and STN requirements and remediation methodologies
  • Knowledge of Simple Network Management Protocol, Centrify, and information assurance vulnerability alerts
  • Knowledge of NiagaraFiles and Web Service Installations
  • DoD 8570 certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
