Network Engineer, Mid

The Opportunity:

A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable agencies to achieve their mission, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, a network engineer who knows how to craft the exact network the DoD needs. As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your skills in network methodologies, design, administration and enhancement, knowledge of computer systems, network configurations and connections, and troubleshooting to support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll analyze, upgrade, and develop enterprise-wide infrastructure, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructures, and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.

You’ll apply your knowledge in routing and switching, network design and architecture, IP engineering, network transport layers, updating network equipment, performance monitoring, and your CCNA certification as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the DoD evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies. Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you help optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in Cisco hardware and network performance management, and your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects and make an impact on national security missions. You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience with IP networking design and troubleshooting
  • Experience with architecting and designing complex DoD network systems
  • Experience with Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls set up and configuration
  • Experience with leading the testing and deployment of DoD systems or solutions
  • Experience with network and firewall troubleshooting or problem-solving
  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting IPSec VPNs
  • Knowledge of routing protocols, including MPLS, BGP, and Multicast
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Security+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate certification

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with DoD networks
  • Experience DoD satellite communications and radio systems
  • Experience with network design and enterprise security
  • Ability to initiate, manage, execute, and report tasks independently
  • Ability to communicate complex network principles and designs to clients
  • Possession of excellent time management and analytical skills
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
