California Based - Remote | Retail Operations Team | Reports to Head of Retail

Where we need help

The District Manager is responsible for leadership and the overall people management of our Central US region. You will establish & manage recruiting strategies in order to build a talent pipeline. You will develop a high functioning store management team to ensure organizational capacity that meets or exceeds current & future business goals. You will align your teams to achieve organizational goals by communicating the inspiration and vision of our brand. Maintaining team relationships with peers across the distinct, as well as other Corporate business partners. You will create a sales culture to drive profitability through analysis of business, trends, and the impact on customers, associates & store operations. You will lead & shape our retail business strategies for 10+ stores with an annual sales volume range of $3MM to $10+ MM. This role will be accountable for helping our stores achieve budgeted sales, payroll & net contribution goals. Additionally, this role will oversee an Area Leader and will be accountable for the success of their development and store results.

More practical skills needed

  • BA/BS or equivalent
  • 4+ years of management experience in a highly complex, multi-unit retail business environment
  • Expert in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills & the ability to influence business partners at all levels
  • Experienced leader who has the ability to meet & exceed sales & profit results
  • Proven ability to meet current & future business goals through continuous identification & development of store management talent
  • Skilled at building & leveraging relationships with peers, corporate partners & the business community to positively impact business decisions
  • Proven ability to adapt quickly to ambiguity & allocate time to execute multiple tasks & changing priorities
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; will require weekends, evenings & holidays
  • This role may require overnight travel to support the needs of the business
  • California based - remote work

What can we offer?

The Allbirds pay range for the role is up to: $130,000.00, depending on location, knowledge, skills and level of experience.

Allbirds routinely evaluates pay rates, and the ranges are subject to change based on market rates and other factors. We factor in a number of components when determining starting pay, including the job and level you are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation.
