The Klarna communications teams are a driven, passionate, and fun group of people focused on making Klarna a global brand that is known, respected, and loved by consumers, retailers, and all relevant stakeholders across the globe. We are now looking for a skilled and experienced communications professional who can combine creativity and business acumen to successfully build Klarna’s brand and company narrative in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). You will play a key role in building Klarna’s position by developing and implementing compelling corporate and consumer communications strategies. You will work closely with the regional management and central teams to turn complex messaging into simple communication so that local audiences find it easy to understand Klarna’s value proposition. You will be part of the Klarna country launch team, working closely with other teams such as marketing, commercial, and product, as well as drawing on an extensive network of media and agency relationships.
You will
- Develop and implement corporate and consumer external communication strategies, bringing Klarna’s story to life creatively in Central and Eastern Europe
- Develop and execute local PR strategies around key launches, events, announcements, campaigns, partnerships, program updates, and targeted campaigns
- Day-to-day media relations and engagement, executive communications, and consumer campaigns as well as crisis management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media, thought leaders, and relevant stakeholders in the market
- Develop local spokespeople and support building their external platform through interviews, op-eds, and speaking engagements
- Coordinate with global comms colleagues on group messaging and initiatives where necessary to ensure alignment and maximize opportunities to tell local stories that raise Klarna’s brand awareness. You will need to be able to move between multiple audiences and contexts in a deft manner
- Take the lead in coordinating with various internal teams to support and drive announcements, campaigns, partnerships, program updates and more
- Manage local PR agencies, constantly driving performance to ensure the best ROI for Klarna
You probably have
- 5+ years of experience as a PR professional in the CEE region preferably in a high-growth and/or retail/ecommerce or agency environment. Experience working for a business operating in an evolving regulatory environment is a plus
- You are proactive and hands-on and come up with new thinking and solutions that add value and innovation to the work we do. It is crucial that you can take initiative, and be strategic and forward-looking while at the same time taking personal ownership of everyday delivery
- You love to challenge the status quo, can quickly adapt to change, and have the ability to prioritize your work
- You have proven skill and passion in proactively building relationships with media in CEE, and in successfully generating top-tier favorable media coverage as well as the ability to mitigate negative stories and media cycles
- You have a proven ability to plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously
- You have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and working with external partners
- You are fluent in Polish and English. Ideally, also in Czech
