Seesaw is used by millions of K-12 students in over half the schools in the U.S. The Curriculum (Your Role): The Director of Product Marketing helps build an org-wide understanding of our markets, customers, products & value drivers. In this role, you will build relationships across the business, develop joint go-to-market strategies, enable the field, launch new product features, and help shape the product roadmap to support our highly engaged customer base. Your Classmates (The Team): You’ll be working alongside a dedicated and hard-working team of product, and go-to-market (sales, marketing and customer experience) professionals supporting them in achieving our ambitious goals. This role will report directly to our VP of Marketing and be a critical member of the marketing leadership team. Subject Matter (Your Responsibilities): Go-to-market strategy and team management • Lead product marketing team – Hire, coach, and develop a team of product-focused marketers who are chartered with helping Seesaw win markets. • Build and set a strategy for the department. • Help develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for our platform and individual use cases. • Partner with the sales and customer experience teams to assist with sales enablement. • Provide the buyer insights necessary to launch impactful integrated campaigns. • Partner with the Product Team to help shape the roadmap and drive revenue growth for the company. • Work with PR and Analyst firms to keep your pulse on the market and market intelligence Pricing, Packaging, Positioning • Drive market differentiation – Produce crisp, compelling messaging and content that will drive pipeline and revenue goals. Create a messaging architecture and partner with cross-functional teams to develop relevant content and testing plans for new messages. • Establish competitive positioning – Direct competitive research, win/loss, and other feedback mechanisms to determine and evaluate competitive positioning. Arms sales (and GTC teams) with the knowledge and tools to win in competitive settings. • Define and optimize commercial models – Partner with the product organization to define pricing, and packaging and offer strategies that maximize uptake of Seesaw in target markets. Product Launches • Direct product launches – Lead the product launch process and orchestrate the execution of product releases. • Drive the development of core materials including master messaging documents, all website messaging and deliverables, video demos, demo scripts, pitch decks and tutorials, field enablement tools, such as case studies, presentations, white papers, sales kits, field newsletters, competitive battle cards, etc. • Build product marketing toolkits – Build a repeatable model for delivering marketing- and sales-focused toolkits with clear positioning, messages, and content that enable success with target buyers across all channels.

Prerequisites (The Requirements):

    • 7+ years of progressive product marketing leadership experience, with significant time in a senior sales role at a fast-paced, ed-tech company. Experience evolving and developing a successful go-to-market strategy in partnership with the product team.
    • Broad and deep experience in the K-12 ed-tech sector. Exposure to the platform is most relevant, but curriculum solutions or assessment exposure is valuable.
    • Successfully partnered with Product, Marketing, and Finance colleagues to achieve shared goals. Participation in a fast-growth environment is particularly helpful.
    • Leads through interpersonal influence- not just authority. For instance, you build strong relationships, help others find meaning and purpose in their work, and inspire those around you through energetic engagement.
    • Problem solve with a high degree of intellectual horsepower. More specifically, you solve problems by thinking ahead, reframing the issue, balancing the big picture and details, and quickly cutting through complexity.
    • You are motivated by making a difference in solving challenges teachers and administrators face in making engaged learning happen and you care about building a diverse team to better advocate for the needs of users.
