As a Dubbing Language Production Manager, you will be responsible for how members experience dubbed audio, ensuring Netflix customers across the globe get the highest quality experience from our localized audio assets. As we continue to add support for new languages and expand our global membership, providing best-in-class localized content is critical to our success. The Role The Language Production Manager will be the main liaison between the Netflix Dubbing team and local studios across CEE, ensuring alignment between the dubbing industry and the company’s strategy, as well as overseeing production on select titles in their respective language(s). 50% of the role is centered around driving initiatives promoting market and infrastructure development for the Dubbing industry in the CEE region, while the other 50% is title coverage. The ideal candidate is an organized, strategic thinker that thrives in managing a multitude of tasks while safeguarding all title-level requirements. You will be working on Netflix's growing catalog to manage project progress, creative and quality control, and the launch of all dubbed assets. Managing end-to-end dubbing includes working closely with internal and external partners to direct and/or influence outcomes even amidst ambiguity. This is a demanding and fast-moving position that requires someone who can maintain a holistic approach while getting as tactical as necessary to deliver the content. Applicants must work across all components of Dubbing alongside in-territory teams and dubbing partners to produce high-quality global audio assets in the languages they oversee.

Responsibilities:

• Be the leading voice of dubbing production for the respective dubbing languages - Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Romanian, Croatian, Ukrainian.
• Define standards for excellence and general creative guidelines for the respective countries.
• Analyze content to identify and solve localization challenges in collaboration with the Title Managers and Title Specialists on select titles.
• Build and leverage strong relationships with Dubbing Partners and the talent communities in the respective countries. Maintenance and growth of existing talent databases.
• Collaborate with Dubbing Partners and/or Title Managers on dubbed talent casting, creative team selection, and enforcement of creative guidelines through mix review on select titles.
• Influence and streamline dubbing production operations by looking for efficiency opportunities (budget awareness, scheduling, capacity, etc).
• Work closely with Dubbing Global Resource Strategy to regularly evaluate vendor strategy in territory.
• Accommodate and/or provide risk assessment for any special upstream localization requests. Address, resolve and escalate issues and concerns as needed.
• Closely monitor activities of actors unions/guilds that could influence operations and general market behavior.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners for Inclusion & Diversity initiatives to ensure our strategy is consistent across the organization.
• Understand the local competitive landscape in the respective markets and closely monitor activities that could influence dubbing capacity and general market behavior.
• Have a working knowledge of the dubbing contracts and local best practices between talent and Netflix’s dubbing vendors.

Role requirements:

• At least 5 years experience in managing localization and/or creative workflows within the entertainment industry; background in dubbing creation and a passion for languages and translation quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to represent Netflix in any industry event on the respective territory.
• Deep understanding of differences, subtleties, and nuances between subtitle and dub translation.
• Attention to detail: able to get to the root cause of a problem; able to creatively figure out a solution or propose changes to existing workflows, priorities, tools & technologies, as required.
• Business acumen amidst the local Dubbing markets in order to drive reporting and analysis on trends, landscape, capacity and competition.
• Ability to prioritize and scale to maximize impact.
• Sensitivity to servicing, particularly within the internal organization and stakeholder management.
• Have an interest in the intersection of technology, operations, creativity, metrics, and business.
• Willing to travel as needed.
• Familiarity with the current trends in the entertainment industry in the respective territory is a must.
• Understanding of all forms of professional audio formats, technology, best practices, maintenance.
• Proficiency in at least one language of the local region, as well as English, is required.
