Apple is seeking an Anti-Abuse Engineer to join the Trust & Safety organization with a mission to protect Apple’s services, customers, and developers from fraud and abuse. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, deployment, and support of technologies and tools for the anti-abuse operations team! The ideal candidate will work closely with the operations team and other fraud teams, taking guidance from them to help combat spam, phishing attacks, and other abusive activity. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with operations and engineering teams to communicate data-driven recommendations for product and security efforts. Intellectual curiosity and the ability to hit the ground running are keys to success in this fast paced and collaborative environment.

  • - Excellent communications skills—both written and verbal-- including the ability to clearly convey complex concepts and findings
  • Ability to quickly understand patterns within big datasets
  • Strong desire to automate repetitive tasks
  • Knowledge in the following areas is required:
  • Python and Splunk
  • Email-related protocols and standards (SMTP, DNS, rbldns, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, etc.) along with
  • spam filtering concepts
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Hadoop, Scala, Java, or Spark is a plus

Description Our team’s mission is to ensure trust and safety of the digital content on Apple Services. A successful candidate’s responsibilities will include: - Foster empathy toward Apple customers and the team. Be vigilant for good customer experience. Seek opportunities to help and improve the team. - Develop, deploy and maintain tools to aid in abuse mitigation for messaging services. - Scale the operations of the Trust & Safety team by seeking automation opportunities and implementing re-usable tools and libraries. - Be ready to get your hands dirty and do deep dive data exploration to identify fraud exploitation loopholes. Investigate fraud attacks and suggest remediation actions

Education & Experience

Education & Experience BS in CS, other related technical field, or equivalent experience.
