THE POSITION:

FanDuel is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This person will possess excellent communication and high attention to detail. This person will primarily work with management of the FanDuel Sportsbook finance team, playing a pivotal role in assisting on the various finance functions. The position will report into the Senior Accounting Manager.

THE GAME PLAN:
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Prepare, post and reconcile period end closing journal entries for P&L and balance sheet accounts
  • Provide Actual vs Budget analysis on key business areas
  • Review general ledger for proper coding
  • Maintain accrual schedules (Accrued Expenses, Fixed Assets, Prepaid, etc.) monthly
  • Assist in building schedules, processes, reconciliations and flux analysis
  • Assist with the implementation of best practices to simplify, standardize and scale our business
  • Work with management to document accounting processes and internal controls
  • Work effectively cross-functionally in order to prepare closing entries and to anticipate changes to processes
  • Work with management on monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities; P&L and balance sheet analysis for various general ledger accounts
  • Assist with requests from internal and external auditors
  • Provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data to support key decision making
  • Provide necessary reporting on financial data, ensuring all requested reporting (ad-hoc and routine) are completed in a timely manner and contain accurate information
  • Identify process improvement opportunities for processes and reporting

THE STATS:
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in performing all essential duties and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a variety of individuals in a constructive and collaborative manner
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to various levels of an organization
  • High level of energy and the desire to work in a fast-changing working environment
  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced and constantly changing environment while managing to tight deadlines
  • Strong Excel skills, and be comfortable with large data volume
  • Apply US GAAP to research and solve complex transactions
