About The Role & Team

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on individual to own the accounting for Amplitude’s equity plans and assist in equity plan administration. Reporting to our Director of Revenue Accounting and Operations, you will partner closely with Legal, People Operations, and Payroll to support the administration of our global equity platform and help drive efficiency and process. You have a passion for excellent customer service to all equity participants and enjoy managing communication and assisting participants in education and training regarding Amplitude’s plans.

As the Senior Accountant, you will:
  • Reconcile monthly equity activity, including shares outstanding and share reserves among company records, and third-party vendors;
  • Perform all stock plan financial reporting activities including month-end close, including:
    • preparing stock-based compensation entries
    • reconciling monthly stock related activity to the general ledger
    • evaluating stock plan or award changes for modification accounting
    • and being a subject matter expert for all audit and external reporting inquiries related to equity accounting
  • Prepare quarterly stock disclosures for internal and external reporting
  • Assist our equity admin with administering equity plans, including processing stock option and restricted stock unit grants, exercises and releases modifications, cancellations, and terminations
  • Assist in development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to stock administration, and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Assist in the preparation of grant files for all new equity grants including related valuations
  • Assist in addressing participant inquiries in a timely manner
You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:
  • Three years of experience in equity accounting for public companies through public or private accounting
  • Understanding of accounting standards relating to equity compensation (ASC 718)
  • Understanding of internal controls and experience in a SOX environment
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with analyzing data using Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, V-lookup)
  • Experience with Shareworks system
  • Experience with U.S. federal and state taxation relating to equity compensation and general knowledge of global taxation
  • Strong organizational/project management skills and detail-oriented self-starter
  • Great communication skills and experience preparing employee communications
