Job Description

We are now looking an experienced research analyst with a focus on Food & Drink, Foodservice sectors, including topics studying market trends and marketing strategies, consumers' behaviors and attitudes towards different trends, innovation, branding and marketing campaigns happening in these sectors, covering but not limited to beverage, food, cooking, restaurant, menu, and food franchiser.

What you will be doing:

  1. Publishing in-depth reports combining market research and consumer insights:
  • Work with Category Directors to write and publish 6-7 reports a year covering a variety of consumer markets that demonstrate Mintel’s expertise in related topics
  • Gather primary and secondary data relevant to the researched market, and work with Category Directors to develop accurate market, company and segmentation data
  • Build relationships with industry contacts to understand the key issues influencing consumers, innovation and company strategy, identifying the most relevant issues to explore in consumer research
  • Design consumer research, provide in-depth analysis leveraging your category expertise and consumer sentiments, and work with Category Directors to translate data into actionable insights and suggestions
  • Work with Category Directors to recruit and coach intern on the collection and cleaning of big data
  • Meet tight publication deadlines
  1. Representing Mintel and delivering clients service
  • Support Category Director to handle client service requests related to the subject field
  • Support commercial team to proactively share Mintel’s insights with clients & prospects in data-pull or presentations
  • Promote Mintel’s brand in the marketplace by supporting marketing and PR activities such as media interviews and webinars

Who we are looking for:

  • Insights-led : You should have at least 2 years’ experience in market or consumer research, marketing or consulting role and proven expertise in cross-category mind-set, ideally accumulated from the industry/client side
  • Observant and sensitive : You have a strong interest, patience to study and ideally expertise in food, drink or foodservice industry. You have the ability to spot trends and innovations that are emerging in the categories, and are willing to try out new launches to get first-hand experiences.
  • Naturally Curious :You are naturally curious and great at navigating internal and external data, asking second and third-level questions to see the patterns behind data to craft expert analysis to be used in a business setting.
  • Logical thinking : You are equipped with analytical skills, critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Business acumen : You are able to develop insights that have meaningful business implications
  • Detailed Organizer : You have good organizational and planning skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good English writing skills : You have solid business English writing skills and have written long articles/essays or reports independently.
