What you'll do

• Connect with prospects & customers (running demos, sharing roadmaps, answering general questions)
• Create and articulate compelling value propositions around Backstage based products
• Driving prospects down the sales funnel
• Partner with marketing, developer relations and business development to grow the Backstage footprint
• Handle numerous accounts concurrently and strategically
• Accelerate customer adoption through sales engagements
• Work with external partners to extend reach and drive adoption
• When necessary, get hands on and dig in to help address customer issues alongside Customer Success Engineering and Core Engineering
• Develop a deep understanding of customer concerns, share insights when metrics and anecdotes may differ
• Leverage knowledge of customers’ needs to assist Product and Engineering teams in better serving your customers

Who you are

• The ideal candidate will possess both a sales and technical background that allows them to strategically engage at the C-level as well as with software developers and IT architects
• A self-starter who is prepared to plan and execute against a rapidly evolving landscape
• Excellent communicator able to concisely explain technical solutions and tricky issues
• Quick learner with a strong interest for technology
• Proficient in web development with React, TypeScript, and Node under their tool-belt
• Organised to manage numerous projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail and delivering results across multiple initiatives such as driving expansion, customer happiness, feature adoption, and retention
• Previous experience helping customers build cloud based solutions (plus)
• Prior experience working for a technology startup (plus)
• Experience working with/contributing to backstage.io (plus)

• Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the EMEA region in which we have a work location and is within working hours.
• Working hours? We operate within the Central European and GMT time zones for collaboration and ask that all be located that time zone.
