We are looking for enthusiastic math instructors who have a background in probability and statistics, for our Academy of Math and Programming (AMP) in New York City.
This is a temporary, six-week-long summer role, which includes one week of training. Dates of the program are still being determined, but will likely take place from early July through early August.
AMP is a program for recent high school graduates of diverse backgrounds who have experienced barriers to access and opportunity within advanced STEM education. It offers students a rigorous and rewarding curriculum that focuses on topics near and dear to Jane Street, including mathematics, computer programming, data analysis, and game theory.
You’ll work alongside an excellent group of instructors and teaching assistants to administer challenging and interactive courses and activities — including classes, problem-solving, and game playing — and supervise students as they spend their summer learning.
Teachers will be responsible for developing and presenting their courses and materials, within the purview of the program, and for some additional coordination and planning before and during the program. Math teachers will teach either number theory or combinatorics using a problem-based curriculum. There will be responsibilities before and after the program for which support is needed.
Jane Street deeply values the quality of our educational programming, and we compensate our high-caliber instructors accordingly. Travel, housing, and meals will be provided.
