Our user base has doubled in the last year alone, and we have paid over $3.5 billion directly to creators on our platform. With this level of growth comes the responsibility to keep the platform safe from illegal or offensive content, from financial crimes, and from scams and fraud. In order to support this level of growth, Patreon is looking for a Staff Fullstack Engineer to join our Trust and Safety team.

• Lead the design and development of software and tools to keep Patreon and our creators safe from malicious activity, in a macro environment where scams and content moderation are gaining attention across the technology industry
• Foster clarity and alignment on technical vision and direction by collaborating with engineers, data scientists, product managers, and operations teams to allow our community and business to grow, safe from bad activity
• Develop a new platform for reviewers and for creators to have seamless and personalized interactions when we need to reach out
• Consistently level up our detection systems and algorithms so creators can focus on what matters most: their creativity and livelihood!
• Build a strong product-minded, engineering culture by mentoring and guiding engineers

• 10+ years of experience in software development, primarily fullstack
• Experience enforcing a high standard of quality and craft with an eye for UX and engineering detail, architecting and leading teams to build software that withstands the test of time
• Excellent communication skills to facilitate requirements gathering, decision-making, and knowledge sharing
• Experience working in Python, Java and/or a similar general purpose language
• In depth knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and/or React
• Strong understanding of web servers, API design frameworks, and data modeling - and a desire to mentor more junior engineers
