Summary

Posted: Oct 14, 2022 Role Number: 200433848 Marcom is Apple’s Global Marketing Communications group. We oversee all of Apple’s advertising and marketing to ensure the flawless development and execution of world-class communications. Marcom Technical Device Managers work within Technical Production Services group and support video production and photography projects. They're responsible for the devices being filmed for marketing and training purposes. TDMs support our producers and creatives, and provide product expertise during our productions. They know anything and everything about our Apple devices and larger ecosystem of services. They ensure released and unreleased products remain true to function. They also work with Creatives to prototype, load, and screen capture content on devices. Some of this content is used in launch videos, Keynotes, guided tours, digital signage, and advertisements. As a Lead Technical Device Manager, you will be the authority and single source of contact for all questions and issues related to the products in your pod. You will also fulfill duties as a Technical Device Manager (TDM), in addition to being a hands-on leader, and have a deep understanding of Apple hardware and software products. The Lead TDM will develop training, and schedule technical presentations to educate TDMs and our internal clients about important information pertaining to your assigned product lines. The ideal candidate will build and maintain a healthy working relationship with counterparts in Brand, PM, Engineering, ID and marketing teams, research new features, identify bugs and document solutions and workarounds. As a lead you will make sure documentation is clear, up to date and always available to the team on our knowledge portal.

  • Minimum of 8 years working in a technical production role
  • Expert-level knowledge in Apple hardware and software products
  • A combination of extensive video and/or photo production experience, networking and technical troubleshooting experience, and technical project management experience
  • You remain curious, asking questions and digging deep to find solutions
  • You follow through with commitments and fosters mutual trust with fellow team members and internal customers
  • You are resourceful and have confirmed technical problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Extraordinary communication and time management skills, with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Good judgment to follow security practices to protect our unreleased devices from exposure
  • Working experience using creative tools such as Photoshop, After effects, Final Cut
  • HTML and Javascript experience a plus, but not required
  • Lead by example with a dedication to the success of others in the team
  • You are comfortable and willing to travel abroad; international travel including occasionally to remote destinations (including but not limited to desert, tundra, rain forest, and potentially other remote locations.)

Description As a Lead, you will play a meaningful role in helping the production team in various ways including but not limited to the following: - Build relationships with PM, engineering and brand and become a trusted partner - Empower and encourage the TDMs who rotate in and out of assigned pods and be responsible for the successful completion of all projects related to your pod. - Build marketing and training content for Apple’s released and unreleased products. - Provide clarity on usage scenarios, device and app behaviors - Lead device logistics and shipments of unreleased products around the world - Troubleshoot devices and device networking issues - Prototype content for creatives prior to a shoot - Follow security protocols on set, and make sure our devices and IP are not exposed - Request and prepare inventory of products before product shoots - Continuously learn and teach others on the team by conducting training sessions - Find areas where we can innovate, and create plans to complete the vision - Possess a willingness to go above and beyond - Be a leader, problem solver, and don’t sweat the small stuff

Education & Experience

Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Apple Lead Genius experience a plus, but not required
