Ancestry is looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Commerce Platform team! The Commerce Platform team oversees all website and back-end functionality related to taking customer orders and renewing subscriptions. The systems that belong to the Commerce Platform are business important, and we are investing in the evolution of our platform. Join our Commerce Platform team if you have the talent and desire to bring creative products at a rapid pace, serving our Ancestry customers and internal partners by building back-end services that directly improve the financial success of the company. The Opportunity: You will be an essential contributor in developing the Commerce Platform services. You will work on an accomplished scrum team and will improve the bottom-line of the business by using AWS and Java-based technologies to develop new solutions and enhance existing platform services.

What you will do...

    • Work with an accomplished and collaborative team to develop microservices that scale in the cloud
    • Develop new backend functionality to support the evolving needs of Ancestry customers in the eCommerce Domain
    • Solve business-critical problems associated with the quarterly deliverables of the eCommerce organization
    • Write code and unit tests, conduct code reviews

Who you are..

    • 6+ years of software development experience
    • AWS experience desirable
    • Solid proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
    • Solid design and architectural skills
    • Experience with design and implementation of distributed applications, APIs, or frameworks
    • Experience with REST, JSON, HTTP, SSL, Caching, and asynchronous code
    • Experience with CI/CD
    • Use Agile or other rapid application development methods
    • Bachelor's in CS or EE
