Job Description

Yext (NYSE: YEXT) helps organizations answer every question about their business. Yext's Answers Platform collects and organizes content into a Knowledge Graph, then leverages a complementary set of products — including Listings, Pages, Reviews, and Search — to deliver relevant, actionable answers wherever customers, employees, and partners look for information. For over 15 years, thousands of companies worldwide have trusted Yext to create seamless content-driven experiences at scale across search engines, websites, mobile apps, and hundreds of other digital touchpoints. With the explosion of data online, finding relevant information when searching for it on the internet has never been more important. While the world of consumer search (think Google or Bing) has innovated over time, enterprise search (think a search box on a particular company website) has not. Most enterprise search is powered by outdated keyword technology that only scans for keywords and delivers a list of hyperlinks rather than answering the user’s questions.
Yext, the AI search company, offers a modern, AI-powered Answers Platform that understands natural language so that when people ask about something on a business’s or an institution's web, they get real answers – not links.
As an annotation specialist, you’ll be helping train artificial neural networks to understand human language by supplying them with high-quality labeled language data, which are essential for building cutting-edge technology that makes search better. You will be on the front lines, analyzing texts and meanings of words, assigning them different types of classificatory tags, performing essential data entry, reviewing the work of others, and creating complex datasets that are the basis of machine learning.

What You’ll Do
  • Use specialized labeling software to analyze different kinds of language data from Spanish and English
  • Use Slack, Google Workspace, and Zoom to learn about new projects, collaborate with your team, and ask questions
  • Complete assignments in a timely manner while closely following the labeling guidelines
  • Review the work of other annotators, correct their output if needed
  • Provide feedback on data quality, raise issues you encounter during annotation
What You Have
  • A person with excellent reading comprehension, analytical skills, and passion for language
  • Bilingual Spanish/English speaker with native or near-native proficiency in both languages
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Good communicator, able to spot ambiguity and ask questions clearly and concisely
  • Comfortable with long-term repetitive tasks that require focus and attention to detail
  • Able to work on multiple projects at once while meeting quality standards and deadlines
  • Computer literacy (esp. macOS) and virtual work skills are expected
  • Previous experience with annotation is welcome but not necessary
  • Background in language studies and knowledge of key concepts in phonology, syntax, semantics, and predicate logic are a big plus
  • Interest in learning about artificial intelligence (esp. NLP/NLU) and machine learning is appreciated
  • Mac (or Windows) PC and high-speed cable internet connection are a prerequisite
What We Offer
  • Freelance contract with flexible working hours (between 16 and 20 hours weekly; possibility of extending to 40 hours weekly in the future)
  • Flexible work time taking into account your preferences
  • Competitive salary, hourly pay
  • Work from the comfort of your home
  • Becoming a part of an energetic team of annotators in different languages
  • Continuous guidance and feedback that enables professionalization
