About the role:

We’re looking for an experienced Product Researcher to support our teams spanning the donor, fundraiser, and organization experience. As a Researcher, you will be a trusted advisor to Classy and champion the use of research to inform and drive product direction. Researchers collaborate with Designers, Product Managers, Data Analysts and Engineers to define research problems then execute research studies to solve them. It’s their job to own and drive research projects from start to finish. You will play a role in shaping how we build research as a core competency across Classy and define how we put users first when conducting research. You give a damn, and want to use the power of design for good.

What you’ll accomplish:

  • Evangelize research insights to evolve and enhance Classy understanding of user needs
  • Deliver impactful and actionable research studies that inspire action
  • Collaborate with leadership to determine how to best leverage user research at Classy and deepen our understanding of our users
  • Work in a highly collaborative fashion as a strategic partner to Leadership, Product Managers and Designers to define both the long-term strategy and the short-term tactics for our products by grounding these decisions in user needs and insights
  • Prioritize research needs and approaches across multiple work streams to work on the right project, scale, and scope at the right time
  • Enable other teams to learn and apply research skills by building research programs, platforms, and toolkits that empower them to conduct tactical research
  • Partner with Leadership to build out Classy’s research practice and infrastructure including sourcing research vendors to augment the work of your team

What you bring (Required):

  • 5+ years working as a user experience researcher on digital products
  • Expertise in conducting end-to-end user research studies; planning, recruitment, execution, analysis and delivery
  • You enjoy conducting your own primary research while also mentoring and inspiring others as they hone their craft and engage in research.
  • An ability to develop strong partnerships with PMs and Designers – to positively challenge assumptions, unpick ambiguous contexts and define problems to solve
  • Expertise in a wide variety of research methodologies and an ability to apply them on problems of different size and scope; formative and summative; qualitative and quantitative; tactical and strategic
  • Can communicate research findings in creative and impactful ways
  • Your work has had real impact and shaped the user experience of digital products and websites. You have worked on both desktop and mobile products
  • You have experience recruiting
  • A strong understanding of the psychological basis of user research
  • Ideally an MSc in Human-Computer Interaction or related degree or experience.
    What would be awesome to have (Preferred):
  • You’ve built or scaled research platforms, systems, or programs at your workplace.
  • An understanding of the Jobs to Be Done framework is preferred
  • Have developed personas
