CAD DevOps Engineering Intern – Summer 2023

Silicon Labs CAD DevOps Team works to build and support the infrastructure, tools, and processes empowering CAD and IC Design teams to operate at scale. Be part of a team that enables shorter development cycles, increased product deployment efficiency, higher quality deployments, in close alignment with business objectives. Advocate and enable automation and monitoring at all steps of development. Close collaboration with Design, IT, and Security teams along with knowledge of, and ability to learn new and existing technologies are key to success in the role.

What You’ll Do

As a member of a CAD DevOps team you will determine, develop, and support infrastructure needs and flows for our rapidly growing IC Design and Software divisions. This is a highly visible role, which requires fluid interaction with Silicon Labs’ CAD, Design, IT, Software Engineering, Packaging, and Layout teams. Day today work will involve:

  • Delivering availability of critical infrastructure around the globe
  • Manage users, projects, storage, and compute systems in our EDA clusters
  • Design, develop and deploy analytics and telemetry solutions
  • Increase performance of compute infrastructure and related subsystems
  • Deploy automations across our global Linux footprint

Who You Are

You are an innovator, builder, and tinkerer who has a keen interest in building upon your foundation knowledge new tools and technologies. You are looking for an opportunity to show off your breadth of skills from several disciplines. You want to work with a global team of technology enthusiasts and design pioneers. Here’s what you need:

  • Completion of 2+ years of study
  • Enrollment in BS/MS/PhD Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science degree plan
  • You have some combination of the following skills:
      • Coursework, experience, or projects with relevant experience
      • Exposure to or interest in Linux, Storage, HPC computing
      • Experience with automation and scripting tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, BASH, Python, Perl
      • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence a plus.
      • Expertise in data analysis/visualization tools like Grafana, Splunk, Google studio, Power BI also a plus
      • Strong written and oral communication skills
      • Ability to work independently, innovate, and drive decision-making with input is critical to this role
