Job Description
The Global Key Account Manager (GKAM) is responsible for the acquisition and development of new business; long-term global account management, business forecasting and reporting; sales of standard product and solutions within Automotive end-user and its channel partners.
This includes:
- Overall responsibility for the global account, to foster growth, profitability and customer satisfaction
- Develop and drive account development plans including business case (pricing strategy, frame agreement definition and customer service strategy) and ensure it is aligned with the overall group strategy
- Create and execute strategies to maximize business opportunities and make sure that the company maintains and improves its position, as a supplier of choice
- Make opportunities visible and identify target projects
- Understand customer business model and supply chain (including strategy, global structure and buying center)
- Manage the Total Customer Relationship
- Plan, facilitate and conduct complex negotiations
- Promote frame agreements with the account
- Act as reference point for problem resolution and monitor the account claims
- Provide regular reports, briefings and reviews as required
- Supports the preparation of proposals with cost estimates and present to all relevant stakeholders within the customers’ organization
- Schedule project reviews and ensure successful delivery of all projects
- Travel to customer facilities
- Communicate, motivate and coach the global account team
- Leadership role and facilitate team selling in a virtual organization
- Coordinate global strategic and regional sales activities within assigned key account, including sales push of new-technologies
- Support the local key accounts in reaching their targets and coordinate sales resources allocation
- Achieve planned profitability level together with country units & business units
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in global account management
- 5+ years direct experience with Automotive practices
- 3+ years of sales of industrial equipment for factory automation
- Experience dealing with customers including sales, problem resolution, negotiation skills, and relationship building
- Networking and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative matrix sales leadership role
- Energy, passion and commitment to success
- Lateral management skills
- Strong public speaking, written communication, negotiation and presentation skills are essential
- 40% Travel is required in the role:
- Frequent travel to the assigned Key Account’s local sites
- Travel to assigned Key Account’s locations that are not local (1 week each month)
- International travel (1 week every quarter)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Knowledge of Rexroth Factory Automation product lines
- Solid understanding of electromechanical principles and automation machinery operation
- Previous relationships with associate contacts at automotive companies such as General Motors and Magna
