The team
Our Finance team plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimal financial management, and efficient operations across DocuSign. The team consists of Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Revenue Operations, Investor Relations, and Business Operations. The Finance team partners across all organizations in DocuSign to appropriately allocate resources, inform key business decisions, and facilitate the execution of our operational plans.

This position
DocuSign’s current Finance Director for Brazil will be taking a step back from some of their current responsibilities for personal reasons for a period of six months. For this time we plan to hire a contract Finance Director who will run the day to day accounting operations with consultative input from the current Finance Director. The role will involve overall responsibility for management accounting, statutory accounting, local tax issues and day to day accounting operations for our Brazilian companies. The individual will manage a team of people to deliver monthly reporting in line with the Company’s close schedule and ensure that the business is compliant with all Brazilian tax and financial regulations.

The position is a people manager reporting to the International Controller based in Dublin, Ireland and is designed Flex.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day accounting operations in Brazil to ensure that all transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner
  • manage accounting operations to include the full Procure to Pay and Order to Cash processes as well as payroll
  • Manage the monthly Record to Report process in Brazil to ensure that monthly accounts for DocuSign’s Brazilian operating entities are finalized in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Manage the delivery of a monthly balance sheet review for SOX purposes
  • Ensure that DocuSign’s two Brazilian companies are compliant in terms of all transactional and income taxes
  • Ensure that DocuSign’s Brazilian entities are compliant in terms of all local financial regulations
  • Support the Brazilian business through partnering with sales and other departments to ensure growth is maximized
  • Support the current Finance Director in delivering a number of strategic system and automation initiatives

Basic qualifications

  • Degree in business, finance, or accounting
  • Professional accounting qualification
  • 12+ years of accounting experience with at least five of these in a senior accounting role within a Brazilian company
  • Fluent written and spoken English

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience managing the accounting function for the Brazilian subsidiary of a US based multi-national
  • Experience as part of a local Brazilian leadership team
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong understanding of local and US GAAP
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Proven ability to effectively partner with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated communication, collaboration and proactive consultation skills
