About The Role We’re looking for an experienced Director who can successfully deliver an exciting role that owns communications for our brand and manages the growth and engagement of our organic social media channels. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, candidates should be able to use journalism-style storytelling – including blogs, news stories, feature stories, visuals and other media – to share the company’s top news, innovations and corporate priorities. Candidates also should have a strong understanding of the way news and information flows online today, with experience in driving reach and engagement via content syndication and amplification. That includes experience using LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and SEO to reach key audiences, along with a passion for continuing to learn about new mediums and tactics for growing and engaging audiences online.
The Director of Comms & Social Marketing will:
- Proactively develop plans that share key narratives and enhance the perception of the Rocket Lawyer brand
- Find innovative ways to storytell around the domestic and global growth of Rocket LawyerPerform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
- Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals
- Set specific objectives and report on ROI
- Work with cross functional teams to generate, edit, publish and share engaging content
- Monitor corporate communications and organic social web traffic metrics
- Collaborate with other teams, like marketing, sales and customer service to ensure brand consistency
- Manage the day-to-day function of our PR agency partner
- Help build seasonal and annual PR plans that highlight priority themes around growth
- Lead and execute strategies using traditional, digital and social media platforms with a focus on craft and compelling storytelling
- Help build strategic, integrated communications plans with cross-functional leads
- Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions
- Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
- Support employee communications as needed (All Hands meetings, Leadership Engagement moments, etc)
Experience
- 5-8 years experience in communications/PR, social media, digital marketing, communications, or a similar role.
- Strong work ethic with an assertive self-starter approach and passion for Rocket Lawyer’s mission
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized, ability to prioritize projects and be flexible in a dynamic business environment.
- Stellar communication skills, both written and verbal.
- An adaptable, collaborative team player who thrives in fast paced environments and loves a good process
- Excellent at managing your time and prioritizing multiple work streams at once
- Creative, curious, and collaborative
- Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Google Suite is a plus
