Position Description:

Associate Assessment Specialist

We are looking for an Assessment Specialist who is passionate about learning and learners and can contribute to GA's vision for assessing, measuring, and evaluating learning in support of job skills-focused learning experiences.

The Assessment Specialist will report to the Senior Assessments & Measurement Specialist, and will work with LMS administrators, content managers, learning designers, product managers, instructors, and content vendors to ensure GAs formative and summative assessments are high quality.

This role has flexibility to be 100% remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Review course blueprints to ensure measurability of learning objectives
  • Work with a team to develop the assessment blueprint for a course or program
  • QA assessments and content within the LMS
  • Provide best practice training to subject-matter experts
  • Oversee assessment creation
  • Review/revise assessments created by others
  • Write assessment questions as needed
  • Serve on cross-functional teams to ensure assessment strategy and best practices are being implemented into new and existing products
  • Ability to perform basic psychometric tests on assessment data a plus (e.g., reliability; item difficulty; item discrimination; etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in assessment and measurement or related field
  • Prefer at least one year experience in assessment field, related to assessment strategy, instrument design, and instrument development
  • Understanding of research methodology and strong research skills
  • Knowledge of learning science, learning theories, or learning design principles and their applications to adult learning.
  • Experience integrating the application of academic research and design-based research into the learning design process for products

Our Ideal Candidate:

Our ideal candidate would have an advanced degree in assessment and measurement or related field. The candidate would have experience designing and developing assessments, as well as conducting basic psychometric tests. This person should have excellent communication skills and be able to work well with a team.
