We are an engineering- and product-focused company. Our engineers take a leading
role in designing, architecting, building, and testing our product. Engineers at Splunk
have a wide impact, from developing new capabilities like identity management to
metrics ingestion and analysis to working with customers to see their work be used to

You will become part of a world-class Professional Services team that provides technical and thought leadership through focused solutions to the PS organization globally. As a Professional Services Lead Developer for Global Services, you provide technical subject matter expertise to your manager and the developers who will be working alongside you. Your actions and recommendations will serve to inform the business decisions being made. You will act as the subject matter expert for this team and should have a deep understanding of all products in our Security, Observability, and Platform product portfolios. You will consistently be problem solving, working to develop new solutions to help drive success across our Professional Services teams globally. You will be gathering requirements, finding the right approach, and helping to craft the product solution to the problem. Finally, you will have the opportunity to work directly with our Product Management and Engineering teams, to share your knowledge and experiences and ultimately improve our business and our customers’ experience.

Responsibilities
● Lead fellow developers within the Global PS Field Engineering space, partner
with development and product management team members to redefine how PS
utilizes Splunk products.
● Collaborate with individuals across the company from Product Management,
Product Marketing, Professional Services, Sales, Sales Engineering, Technical
Enablement, Customer Success Management, and Support.
● Be comfortable working with a team of highly technical developers to help define
the roadmap for product solutions.
● Regularly lead design and code reviews and participate in architecture
discussions. As well as estimate software deliverables, often across multiple
sprint timelines.
● Drive technology direction for the team building tools to automate highly manual
and labor intensive processes, and creating reusable and scalable solutions at a
low-code to no code barrier for PS.
● Will solidify training and collateral materials as needed for solutions the team
builds.
● Embrace continuous learning, maintain up-to-date knowledge of Splunk
products, functional knowledge, and industry best practices.
Requirements
●8+ years’ experience and deep knowledge of Python, Ansible, JavaScript,
Terraform and AWS services.
●Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GIT, and Splunk.
●Understanding of machine and application logs.
●Having done past work with Learning Management Systems, SCORM, XAPI,
WebRTC, and Video Streaming technologies considered a bonus.
● Strong knowledge of Splunk administration and SPL.
● Strong open systems application and infrastructure knowledge.
● Organized with a healthy sense of urgency, able to set; communicate; and meet
aggressive deadlines with competing priorities.
● Ability to quickly explore, examine and understand complex problems and how it
relates to the customer’s business.
● Experience with both the Unix and Windows operating systems; comfortable on
the command line interface.
● Preference for experience with at least two of the following cloud providers:
AWS, Azure, GCP.
● Ability to stop, collaborate and listen with technical and non-technical consumers
from application developers to executive level partners.
● Self-motivated and self-educating, always interested in keeping up with
technology and improving oneself.
● Occasional travel may be required.

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or substantial relevant on the job
experience

Note: Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. The base pay for this position is dependent on work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for bonus and benefits, and may be eligible for equity.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $180,800 - 248,600 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $171,200 - 235,400 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $153,600 - 211,200 per year
