Interactive Moderator (short-term contract)

Job Description

*This role is a temporary, short-term contract position requiring flexible availability between October 17-28, 2022.*

OVERVIEW

As an interactive moderator, you’ll create a comfortable and relaxed environment for attendees in online Zoom workshops, panel discussions, and social gatherings. You’ll directly impact the success of these sessions and help create lasting memories for attendees.

You’ll act as a point of contact for session leaders and attendees, managing attendance, facilitating communication with the audience and adhering to a pre-set running order. You’ll also manage key audience engagement functions, troubleshooting and escalation of any issues.

The goal is to provide engaging, sincere, and personalized hosting services to virtual event attendees. You’re friendly, professional and a detail-oriented problem solver with excellent front-facing customer service skills and a drive to ensure that attendees feel comfortable, heard and seen.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver excellent guest services to virtual attendees by building rapport and acting with an attendee-comes-first attitude when discovering and responding to needs
• Provide basic IT troubleshooting and support; accurately understand, communicate and adapt resource information to answer attendee requests
• Recognize potential problems and take a proactive approach to solving using online tools and resources
• Provide virtual platform information and navigation, offering recommendations and assistance as requested
• Provide information to attendees regarding conference programming and interactive elements
• Collaborate online with various other teams to create a seamless service experience

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Proficiency using the audience engagement functions of Zoom is required, including but not limited to waiting room, chat, breakout rooms, polls and sharing audio and video
• Previous customer service or guest service experience is required
• Previous event logistics and / or production experience an asset
• Fast, friendly customer support writing
• Tech savvy, IT experience an asset, familiarity with other online meeting forums an asset
• Fast typing skills
• Strong problem solver and resourceful
• Fluent in English
