Job Description

PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVES:

  • Partner with the Executive Director in defining strategic objectives for assigned Derm Concerns categories. Responsible for helping to create 3-year action plans and successfully executing on defined objectives to grow assigned categories aligning with brand strategies and global objectives.
  • Manage all aspects of product/program development from concept to final delivery, and consistently deliver successful products/programs on time and in budget.
  • Manage, train and develop the marketing expertise of one direct report.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead program conception and development for assigned categories partnering closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop strategy and 3-year plan in partnership with ED, VP and SVP for focus categories
  • Identify white space opportunities based on findings from consumer insights, social listening, CRM data and transposition from other industries
  • Prepare regular category reviews, strategies, and programs, including new product launches and re-promote activities. Make recommendations to seize market opportunities based on analysis
  • Oversee and lead preparation of Concept Briefs, Program Briefs, and Creative Briefs; Manages development and 360 support program to ensure programs are on time and meet strategic and financial objectives.
  • Lead the launch of the new Derm Concerns products. Manages meetings with cross-functional team to ensure successful development and launch.
  • Responsible for assigned category performance, product opportunities and all category related information.
  • Monitor the performance of Clinique versus the competition to identify product need gaps and opportunities; develop and execute action plans to improve brand performance when needed.
  • Is the expert and key point person for performance of assigned segments (shipments, sell-through, cost of goods, sku count, pricing and new product forecasts) as well as the competition.
  • Responsible for pricing architecture, line rationalization, and on-going business initiatives for assigned portfolio
  • Manage monthly business review and/or ad hoc business analysis requests as needed
  • Manage budget and P&L with ED as needed
  • Responsible for providing all Regions and affiliates with timely information on programs.
  • Liaises regularly with Regional marketing teams to ensure programs meet Region/Affiliate Market needs.
  • Act as key, day-to-day contact for Regions to ensure brand strategies and objectives are being met for product launches/programs.
  • Prepare and present materials for presentation of marketing plans and results to internal stakeholders, all affiliates and Retailers when applicable, i.e. Sales Meetings, Regional Roundtables, and Leadership Meetings.
  • Responsible for leading all Flashes and Creative Dossiers.
  • Leverage key insights gleaned from a refined analytics practice to inform decisions
  • Drive category competitive analysis and stays abreast of market and consumer trends, global and local
  • Work closely with Consumer Insights team to implement Social Listening findings into calendar plans and co-develop ad-hoc consumer testing as necessary
  • Manage analytics usage throughout the function to accomplish strategic goals
  • Leverage data to inform decision-making for strategy development and adjustments as necessary
  • Manage and responsible for performance of Direct Reports, including on-time deliverables and accuracy of projects.
  • Leads by example to create environment that is collaborative, encouraging, respectful and builds team cooperation

Qualifications

  • Possesses strong leadership, analytical, creative, and oral and written communication skills.
  • A self-starter who is detail-oriented, accountable, and organized with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
  • Team player with the ability to build, foster and nurture relationships with members of cross-functional teams.
  • Trend-spotter and in tune with evolving consumer and market shifts. Forward-thinking.
  • Ability to manage and develop direct report(s).
  • 7+ years of relevant experience. End-to-end product launch experience a plus.
  • Demonstrates a passion for the beauty industry.
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
