The Analytics & Quantitative Solutions team within the Aladdin Business is responsible for delivering high-impact solutions to our clients’ most complex investment, risk and business challenges, as well as expanding and enhancing Aladdin’s analytics capabilities through research and innovation, leveraging the collective intelligence of the Aladdin client community. Each team member is tasked with understanding market and investment practice trends along with client needs, and proactively offering new and comprehensive solutions leveraging Aladdin analytics and data. The Vice President within the Analytics & Quantitative Solutions team will play a leadership role in driving solutions to complex investment and risk management problems, including leading the design and execution of analytics solutions projects and initiatives.

The Analytics and Quantitative Solutions team is actively seeking a Vice President to work in the Applied Portfolio Analysis practice area to support and expand Aladdin analytics and modeling capabilities in alternatives space. The Vice President would be based out of our New York office and work with business leaders to develop impactful solutions for Aladdin clients across different regions and industries. In addition to that, the person will work with the Client Engagement, Financial Modeling and Aladdin Product teams to evolve our analytics capabilities for private and public assets.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lead cross functional initiatives in developing proof of concepts & solutions for client and prospective client use cases
  • Institutionalize solutions to client problems across Aladdin and eFront platforms
  • Contribute to or lead the formulation of and execution of analytical solutions and thought leadership initiatives and publications, addressing industry challenges and showcasing Aladdin capabilities and solutions
  • Lead the design and execution of tailored and ad-hoc investment and risk analyses, driving solutions to complex problems
  • Lead market, industry and analytics solutions discussion with prospective clients as part of the pre-sales process
  • Drive Aladdin-wide initiative to expand Aladdin's analytics and modeling capabilities of alternatives or private investments by synthesizing client feedback and requests to create well-defined and fully scoped development items
  • Participate in firm-wide analytics initiatives and/or strategic partner relationship initiatives
  • Design and lead engagement / road show strategy for key modeling and analytics capabilities within alternatives private investment space
  • Provide topical guidance on complex analytics inquiries to Client Engagement, Client Services, and Analytics Production teams
  • Coordinate and communicate cross-functional activities and dependencies with partner teams across BlackRock
  • Mentor junior members of the Analytics & Quantitative Solutions team

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in financial services, risk management, financial technology, or consulting. Strong subject matter expertise and strong interest in private markets, alternative private investments, cash flow analysis
  • Familiarity with allocation and management processes for alternative investments
  • Academic degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Finance, Economics, other Social Science, or other analytics-based field
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly to clients. Demonstrable leadership ability, via effective internal communications, stakeholder management and project management skills
  • Keen interest in financial markets and ability to comprehend the impact of market events
  • Knowledge of various analytics systems/tools and their underlying analytical models is desirable. Quantitative skills and familiarity with SQL, Excel and PowerPoint are a must
  • Experience with scripting, visualization tools, programming languages e.g. R, Python, SAS, VBA and SQL desired
  • Excellent problem solving abilities, and experience understanding complex issues
  • Enjoy a fast-paced, high-intensity environment. Work well as part of a team with minimal supervision. Well organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Keen client-focused spirit and willing to take on additional responsibility
  • Familiarity with Aladdin or eFront are a plus
  • CFA/FRM designation is desirable though not required
