Product Design Manager

Job Description

Teaching kids to think critically and communicate effectively has never been more important, and NoRedInk helps students become better writers in more than 60% of middle and high schools in the U.S. We're looking for a Product Design Manager to join our team as a player-coach. In this role, you’ll manage a team of 2-3 talented Product Designers while also executing on your own design work, initially as as a member of our Product Growth/Marketing team.

In this role, you will:

• Own design for a specific product area (Growth)
• Create user flows, prototypes, and high fidelity mockups for new features and experiments
• Manage and grow a team of high-performing product designers
• Coordinate design work across multiple teams and product areas
• Provide feedback and direction on design deliverables in order to increase design quality
• Drive improvements to our design tooling and processes

About You:

• 5+ years experience in SaaS product design
• 2+ years experience managing other product designers
• Strong design craft and the ability to create high-performance designs that both solve user needs and achieve our product goals
• Ability to act as a “player coach,” managing and overseeing the work of other designers while also driving your own individual contributor work
• Experience working on an agile team with product managers and engineers
• Outstanding written, verbal, and visual communication skills
• Customer-focused mindset with an interest in serving students and educators
