Attention NJ Applicants: In April 2020, our Company announced plans to consolidate our New Jersey campuses into a single New Jersey headquarters location in Rahway, NJ by 2023. Therefore, the NJ work location for this role will be temporarily based and the exact timing of the departmental move to Rahway, NJ will be communicated at a future date.

The Senior Specialist Market Research will sponsor Primary Market Research & Secondary Data Analytics to promote multiple indications. The position, under the guidance of senior market researcher(s) on the team will manage and execute a scope of work in oncology market research that spans multiple indications. The key focus area of this position with include focus on working with senior market researchers and with brand marketing teams to promote brand strategy in pre-launch setting, successful launch and developing effective mechanisms for tracking performance metrics post-launch. The position is

responsible for providing strategic input to the extended global and US marketing teams via primary market research projects, secondary data analysis and adhoc requests by proactively identifying strategic insights, answering key business questions, and applying all available resources to produce actionable business solutions and recommendations.

This position requires a basic comprehension of primary market research methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative. to develop and design research approaches to develop accurate and actionable insights for new product launches and in-line products with multiple customer segments within the specialty arena. Past market pharmaceutical commercial roles (sales, marketing, access/reimbursement etc) and/or early indications knowledge is preferred. Knowledge in oncology or other specialty therapies is preferred.

This person is expected to be an exceptional team player who can comfortably interact with and add value in a joint venture environment. The person will need to work across multiple partners within the extended oncology team members including Marketing, Promotions and Digital.

At the same time, the Senior Specialist will have demonstrated strong research and

analytical skills with an ability to work objectively in a rapidly changing environment with a transformational mindset, cultural awareness, and resiliency to change that enables them to effectively produce results for other areas of duty. Primary stakeholders would be Global Brand Marketing/US Brand team/extended Brand teams.

Primary Activities:

  • In partnership with a senior member of the MR team, help with execution of an assigned portion of the global or US market research plan and timeline with a strategic mindset and minimal supervision.
  • End to End involvement in primary market research projects including framing critical business questions, development of research/analysis plans and management of the research process to deliver a purposeful appreciation of key customers, competitors, products and current/future market developments.
  • Implement market research studies & manage budget of projects; brief agencies to deliver what is especially strategic business insights in a compliant manner.
  • Promote the development of market frameworks using a combination of primary research and secondary data (syndicated reports and databases) convey an effective performance and market narrative.
  • Proactively convey and facilitate discussion with Marketing/Commercial Teams to ensure that insights are considered in decision-making and planning; integrates a variety of sources/studies to present strategic options to the extended team; provides consultative guidance to Marketing/Commercial Team(s).
  • Proactively work with cross-functional business partners including marketing communications, market access colleagues, commercial team, and the advertising agency to ensure optimal integration for the launch and post-launch activities.
  • Assist with analysis to inform the strategic assumptions that are built into brand forecasts and tracking of key performance indicators and benchmarking dashboards.
  • Take ownership of comprehending the business opportunity/information needs, considers alternatives, proposes appropriate method/approach, applies best practices, and proactively considers and/or develops new techniques and innovations to meet objectives.
  • Work on and guide adhoc franchise wide initiatives and/or projects as needed.

Position Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preference with an MBA or Postgraduate degree in quantitative methods.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • At least 2 years of knowledge in pharma US market research.
  • Knowledge of oncology or other specialty therapy areas is strongly preferred.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills demonstrated ability to think strategically and objectively with a goal of effective problem solving.
  • Orientation toward partnership/ teamwork, ability to guide teams in execution of market research, interest in ongoing learning.
  • Demonstrates customer focus, decision-making skills, and foster partnership.
  • Ability and comfort in prioritizing and managing multiple requests from multiple marketing points and extended team members.
  • Working knowledge of multiple secondary data and epidemiology data with a fair comprehension of strengths and limitations of each to help with data and performance triangulation needs.
  • Using Oncology specific secondary data sets and triangulate information across multiple data sources both, primary and secondary.
  • Ability to speak effectively and a strong desire to guide change in terms of developing Best Practices.
  • Prior knowledge in roles sponsoring sales, forecasting, access and pricing, marketing, competitive intelligence, early indications is preferred.
  • Prior knowledge working on global team or guiding global Market research.
