a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor

Possible job locations: Prague, Budapest, Bielsko-Biala, Sarbi or Casablanca

Primary function:

As a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for the management of dangerous goods (DG) transportation and storage, which ensures the compliant and safe transport and storage of our products. This is a EMEA position and covers all modes of transportation mainly focused on our products containing Li-Ion Batteries. It encompasses finished goods, developmental products, components and the product recycling loop. In this role you will be the primary internal contact for day-to-day DG transportation and will partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Asset Management, Purchasing and Technology.

Job description:

  • Provide advice on all aspects of the transport of dangerous goods. Support the application of dangerous goods regulations, assessment of covered operations for compliance with ADR, IMDG and IATA (RID and ADN would be an asset). Covered operations include all manufacturing and warehouses.
  • Identify and implement regulatory changes affecting regional shipments
  • Participate in carrier service safety audits
  • Conduct Regional site and third-party audits for relevant DG compliance
  • Ensure that personnel within the region are trained in accordance with applicable country, regional and international dangerous goods transport
  • Participate in global distribution safety risk management, carrier qualification, selection and monitoring programs for Dangerous goods.
  • Monitor compliance with the rules governing the transport of dangerous goods (assessment/Outreach/Targeted Training)
  • Ensure regional sites prepare an annual report to the management of his undertaking or a local public authority, as appropriate, on the undertaking's activities in the transport of dangerous goods.
  • Ensure we have proper bracing methods utilized at manufacturing sites and warehouses (internal or 3rd party ones)
  • Ensure pre-trip checklists and inspections are performed on bulk shipments
  • Maintain the EMEA Distribution Emergency Response Plan (DERP)
  • Ensure EMEA sites have implemented high security sealing policies and plans consistent with Eaton expectations and agreed upon EMEA.
  • Define and organize the return of dangerous goods (for non-conformed products, damaged product or product to be scrapped)
Qualifications

We would like you to bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sciences or related technical field preferred
  • Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor certified ( ADR, IMDG valid)
  • Experience in dangerous goods management including Li-Ion batteries products
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with various organizations
  • Leadership skills to deal with internal and external partners and to manage operational issues to ensure safety and compliance procedures are followed
  • Supply Chain & Logistics experience is preferred
  • English Fluent
