Fiverr is hiring an experienced Director of Data Engineering to join our Data team. As part of this position, you will be responsible for strategic data platform architectural decisions and implementation, as well as managing and mentoring multiple teams of engineers. You will work closely with other managers in order to excel and provide the best data quality and services, using the most innovative and modern tools available in the online industry.

Our work model is hybrid, combining remote and on-site work . This allows us to get things done when and where we are most productive.

What am I going to do?

• A strategic leader in Fiverr’s analytical data infrastructure, management and consumption areas:
• Owner of the technological stack implementation, maintenance and monitoring, with a focus on constant improvement of performance and data quality
• In charge of data self-service and infrastructure tools initiation, design and development review
• Owner of analytical data consumption delivery, providing high performance and frequency services
• Partner and collaborate with Product, Business, Risk and Data Science teams in order to provide production and business intelligence needs of analytical data consumption
• Lead 3 teams of multidisciplinary engineers
• Form, manage and mentor a high performing group of data engineers
• Support the group by being a point of expertise and knowledge in data infrastructure, data modeling and consumption issues
• Evaluate and support implementation of databases and visualization tools, as well as development technologies
• Manage and support security and confidentiality of data systems

Requirements

• BA/B.Sc. in industrial/information systems engineering, computer science, statistics or equivalent
• 8 or more years of experience and significant depth of knowledge in data management, data modeling and data architecture
• 4 or more years of experience in leading cross-functional teams to create technical solutions and implementation
• High level and proven record of Python development
• Proven track record in implementing advanced analytical data practices and software development for data services
• Experience providing services to production using near real-time databases
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as BigQuery, MongoDB, Kafka, Neo4j etc.
• Experience in building web applications, preferably using django and react
• Experience and knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD
