Role:
The Professional Services Regional Architect (RA) is a Splunk technical expert and trusted advisor to enterprise customers and the internal Splunk teams which service those customers. The RA reports directly into the Professional Services area leader, providing technical leadership to position the value of our services pre-sales and then delivering design and architecture solutions for our most strategic customers post-sales. The RA develops delivery excellence across the organization to drive successful customer adoption of Splunk products and services.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the professional services process and work closely with the functional consulting teams as an expert advisor
- Lead customer discussions regarding architecture and scenarios on how to demonstrate Splunk while utilizing standard methodologies
- Architect and develop solutions for enterprise customer environments with significantly complex issues
- Lead and develop complex, multiple, concurrent, multi-product and multi-functional projects
- Interact closely with internal and customer multi-functional groups and their leaders
- Drive and supervise projects from initiation through delivery and monitor and resolve post-delivery issues
- Drive and foster innovation within Professional Services
- Teach and model Professional Services best practices and techniques to team members
- Influence decisions within Professional Services and cross-functionally within the Company
- Actively participate in the Splunk Community as a domain expert, presenting in forums, online and at conferences
- Be the voice of the customer to Product Marketing and Engineering, enabling them to respond to real world customer demands and capabilities
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a technical Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a technical Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
- Splunk Certifications: User, Power User, Admin, Accredited Core Implementation, Accredited Consultant, Accredited Enterprise Security Implementation
- Highly sophisticated communication and interpersonal skills, especially with technical and business audiences
- Prior demonstrated success and experience with creating, managing and deploying enterprise architecture practice with proven mastery of a wide range of systems, data, application architectures including one or more solution frameworks and technologies from diverse vendors
- Proven success in applying a structured approach to analyze business problems and architect innovative modern technology solutions within the defined enterprise guidelines and standards
- Experience with SOC, NOC and operational technology (OT), industrial control systems IOT and relevant technologies, their applications, and collaborate with business systems
- Experience with multi-vendor cloud and data engineering technologies and emerging trends; ex: PCF, containers and orchestration, high scale data stream pipelines, distributed systems (ex. Blockchain, Kubernetes, Container Services), microservices architecture, multi-vendor hybrid cloud, SecDevOps, machine learning, AI and other connected device data integration
- Knowledge and experience in using, architecting or implementing commercial and open source SIEM and log management system Splunk, Arc-Sight, LogRhythm, ELK, Q-Radar, Rapid7
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud
- Industry specific and global data privacy and protection regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, SOX, HIPPA, PCI, NERC etc.,)
- Ability to travel up to 50%
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Sophisticated experience with one or more Splunk premium applications such as Enterprise Security, ITSI, Phantom, VictorOps, UBA
- Demonstrated ability to drive, influence, collaborate enterprise-wide adoption of Splunk or similar products at large scale enterprises
- Experience with architecting and migrating enterprise data and applications to AWS or other IaaS, SaaS, PaaS and managed services
- Experience with architecting, deploying and integrating enterprise data with cloud-based data lake and other Hadoop, MapReduce, Kafka, Spark data streaming services
- Previous experience with information visualization of KPI’s, Metrics, crafting contents, reports, dashboards for board level executive presentations
- Experience with modern Software defined infrastructure (SDI), storage, network and object store
- Certification or Experience with Continuous Availability, horizontal scaling, cloud provisioning, orchestration and automation and SecDevOps concepts such as Security as Code (SaC) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Development background and or knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python, Shell, JavaScript
