Acorns is seeking a licensed Series 24 Securities Principal to join the Invest Operations team in order to build and maintain customers’ trust in Acorns as a revolutionary investing service. Our Investment Operations team reviews and executes the full life cycle of every investment transaction and manages all investment advisor related customer inquiries. Through deep operational insight and big picture thinking, you’ll improve our customer’s experience through timely resolutions, surfacing issues as they arise, and improving processes.

This role has the option to be remote or based in our Irvine, CA or New York, NY offices.

What You’ll Do:

  • Introduce yourself and become integrated with the Invest Operations team
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders across cross functional teams
  • Have recurring 1 on 1’s with management and meet regularly with the Advisor Operations team to provide questions/feedback and understand team priorities, responsibilities and goals
  • Assist the customer support team with customer inquiries that require FINRA licensing including: roth conversions, incoming and outgoing rollovers and transfers, age of transfer requests for UTMA/UGMA accounts, large money transfer requests, general investment advice, ACH authorizations, high balance funding source change requests, deceased, court orders, levies, liquidation and deposit requests, cost basis information, performance questions, collection events, recoding IRA contributions, account unlock requests, check requests, etc.
  • Meet service level agreement goals with all customer inquiries
  • Identity customer needs and communicate promptly through email while maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times
  • Approve and reopen customer accounts
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to plan for upcoming corporate action events
  • Review accounts with suspicious activity including large deposits and withdrawals, chargeback activity, funding source change requests, etc.
  • Recognize, prevent, and communicate fraud issues effectively
  • Collaborate with our IRA Custodian for audit, reconciliation, withholding, and incoming rollover/transfer requests
  • Perform quality assurance on the investment back office customer support team to ensure expectations are being met and delivery of high quality service
  • Act as subject matter expert on all of Advisor Operations, including providing training and guidance to the team and cross functional partners
  • Assist in the development of new investment products and operational readiness
  • Collaborate with FINOP and Compliance to update and create new standard operating procedures as new products, disclosures, and efficiencies are introduced and policies and procedures change
  • Have a deep understanding of the investment money movement life cycle
  • Communicate, manage, and collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve incidents within the department

What you will bring to Acorns:

  • BA/BS degree required
  • FINRA SIE license required
  • FINRA Series 7, 66, 24 license required
  • 2 years of investment or financial operations experience
  • SQL proficiency is preferred
  • A passion for Acorns to look after the financial best interest of the up-and-coming
  • Ability to consistently execute on assigned tasks effectively with a high degree of excellence
  • Masterful problem-solving skills identifying issues and customer needs while providing thoughtful solutions
  • Exceptional awareness with the ability to communicate and escalate issues
  • High degree of professionalism and poise
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
