Role Summary
In this role, you will focus on developing the vision and strategy of a major player experience of tomorrow in partnership with Riot’s leaders. In these experiences, referred to as major programs, you will be accountable for leading a team of Rioters from all over the company and all over the world to create large-scale, deeply impactful moments that drive powerful outcomes for players and the gaming landscape.
You are a communicator and collaborator, able to crystallize XP’s vision for other Riot product teams, external partners, marketing teams, and others. You show what’s possible when Riot products align. Aside from your personal technical skillset, you share a skillset with the rest of the organization, which is to enhance and co-create with other key leaders who bring diverse perspectives.
This role’s daily function is to be mission oriented and a capable leader, able to hold a vision and build confidence with your teams and stakeholders. Your teams will come from within XP but also be created from the various pillars of Riot Games; in spite of their origin you are able to give them shared purpose, identity and forward momentum.
The Riot Experience Program Lead is also able to implement major Riot initiatives into your own strategy, taking into account business priorities and intended outcomes and finding the means to accomplish them through your work. In your work’s results you are able to observe the outcomes defined in your strategy. From there, you work collaboratively with leaders to learn from mistakes and develop takeaways that Riot can learn from.

Responsibilities:

• Develop the strategic approach for one or more of Riot’s major programs
• Responsible for developing the vision of the holistic player experience of a major Riot program
• Be accountable for the project outcomes, such as impact and returns to the business as well as developing key learnings
• Be accountable for the strategies developed by teammates from your vision inclusive of commercial, content, and marketing
• Be accountable for the design the holistic player experience
• Inspire and lead cross disciplinary teams to develop holistic player experience with a focus on games
• Manage project stakeholders such as team investors, leaders of product teams, and heads of regions to understand decisions, project goals and key milestones
• Work with XP delivery leadership and program managers to implement major program with leaders across the company
• In partnership with the producer and program manager, own the project budget
• Be accountable for scoping of your ideas prior to and during production
• Be accountable for seeking and incorporating feedback such as product and IP subject matter expertise
  

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years as a product manager, program leader and/or team leader
• Experience shepherding cross-product products (working cross functionally in collaboration with other teams)
• Strong product strategy skills
• Experience developing and implementing vision globally
• Experience working with and leading global teams
• Proven ability to impact consumers and change behaviors and beliefs
• Experience building alignment ambiguous environments
• Demonstrated ability of identifying risks and mitigation strategies
• Demonstrated empathy for fans of a variety of forms of entertainment
• Demonstrated ability to work with other disciplines (insights, operations, marketers, creatives)
  

Desired Qualifications:

• High sense of empathy and understanding of others viewpoints
• Working knowledge of, or familiarity with forms of product design
• Empathy and understanding of gaming culture
• Experience leading with influence
• Experience building products and/or experiences start to finish
• Exposure to a variety of models of creative development
