Job Description
This is an advanced technical position working in SAS Physical Chemistry, with responsibilities including:
- Performing high-level analytical testing under cGMP on raw materials and finished products in various stages of development.
- Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the company on Physical Chemistry analytical techniques.
- Development of new stability protocols to enhance the analysis of physical stability of formulations.
- Preparation and distribution of data and reports to various levels of senior management.
- Engagement with brand labs and support teams to determine appropriate testing and explain testing results.
- Reviewing data and assessing impact on stability, efficacy, delivery and application of products.
- Keeping proficient and up-to-date on FDA regulations and evaluating impact on department.
- Writing procedures and methods for processes in department.
Assistance with management of projects and delivery of results.
30%: Analyzes raw materials and finished goods and evaluates/interprets results.
30%: Prepares reports, distributes results and engages with management, brand labs and support teams to solve their testing needs.
30 %: Develops stability protocols using rheological and other advanced techniques.
10 %: Assists with management of projects and delivery of results.
Qualifications - Strong technical skills in analytical chemistry and instrumentation including the ability to research and develop new methodology and techniques.
- Extensive experience in determining the physical stability of cosmetic formulations.
- Expert-Level knowledge of one or more of the following analytical techniques: Rheology, Tribology, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Particle Size Analysis, Color Analysis by Spectrophotometer.
- Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and ICH guidelines.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive delivery of results in a timely fashion.
- Must have excellent communication skills (Written & Verbal), including the ability to write technical reports, SOPs and Test Methods.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
