Description:Are you looking for an chance to thrive in a fast-paced Production Operations environment predicated on speed, agility, and technical innovation? If so, the Lockheed Martin (LM) Missiles and Fire Control Facility (MFC) in Archbald, PA has an opportunity for you. We are seeking an experienced Production Operations professional to join the Archbald team as our Fabrication Operations Manager.
In this role the successful candidate will manage and lead the Production Operations efforts within a machine shop environment and with responsibility for the quality, schedule, and cost performance.
Successful candidate will be required to demonstrate previous experience providing day to day direction of departmental operations and overseeing area supervisors and workforce. Selected candidate will be required to meet establish objectives while accomplishing continuous improvements in safety, quality, schedule, cost, and workforce satisfaction. Candidate’s background should include manufacturing processes related to a true production environment in machining and assembly.
The individual will be expected to work with other program functions, including Program Management, Engineering and Technology, Quality and Mission Success and Global Supply Chain, to ensure program quality, cost and schedule objectives are met. In addition to day to day operations, individual will be responsible for leading/supporting manufacturing activities including but not limited to: Ensuring production manpower and required resources are in place to execute per the Internal Operation Plan , facilities and capital planning, tool/equipment utilization, manufacturing plans, and driving execution of the Production Operations Excellence Plans.
Candidate must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management via verbal and written correspondence. Candidate will present the team’s performance in Program, Customer, and Operations Leadership reviews as required.
Basic Qualifications:
-Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership skills
-10+ years’ experience within a manufacturing environment
-Previous leadership experience in production operations
-Thorough knowledge of safety, quality, schedule, cost in a production environment
-Knowledge of Budgeting, Manpower planning, Production Planning, Tooling, and MRP
-Talent development and mentoring/teaching/coaching
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-Ability to manage direct/capital budgets and various key operational metrics
- Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:
-Previous experience in a fast based machining center
-Thorough understanding of machining, welding, paint, and assembly processes
-Experienced with MRP/ERP/Manufacturing planning tools such as SAP, APRISO, etc.
-Green Belt Certification
-Experience with a matrix management organization
-CAM certification or cost analysis experience
-Understands Production Planning, Proposals, Estimating
