Position Summary:
The Plant Manager position is responsible for the overall leadership, management and P&L of Eaton’s automotive manufacturing plant in a challenging market environment.
- Overall responsibility for leading plant teams in achieving production schedule, product quality, product cost, and employee safety goals.
- Provide leadership to all functional and service groups to meet customer requirements.
- Drive performance to achieve or exceed financial plans and strategic goals.
- Leverage resources and motivates personnel to create a high performance culture.
The Plant Manager in Montrottier is a highly strategic position with significant contribution to Vehicle / eMobility businesses at Eaton. The role opens up high career perspective at Eaton both regionally and globally.
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop and communicate initiatives to measure and improve key business drivers (i.e., Customer Satisfaction, Growth and Innovation, Profitability and Asset Management, Perfect Quality, excellence through people).
• Develop and maintain compliance with EQS plan and maintain ISO / TS Certification. Be the driver and champion for Eaton Business System ensuring full compliance with EBE and ELSS.
• Employ continuous improvement initiatives throughout operations to reduce downtime, control supply chain and to improve overall customer satisfaction.
• Ensure safe working environment through leadership and commitment to company safety standards.
• Direct planning and budgeting processes so that the needs of the plant are anticipated and operations are properly controlled.
• Direct and control activities of production operation at the facility, ensuring that a quality product is produced in a timely, efficient manner at the lowest possible cost.
• Ensure safe work environment for all employees through effective management of plant supervisory personnel, implementation and maintenance of safety awareness and hygiene programs, and compliance with regulatory organizations' requirements. Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
• Develop and implement plans to enhance quality of work life within the plant by assuring that open channels of communication exist with employees; participative employee teams are cultivated and trained.
• Develop effective communications and spirit of teamwork between plant operation and field sales, customers, other division plants and the division staff.
• Develop existing plant human resources in compliance with Eaton Philosophy Work Practices to maximize value while assuring compliance to all state, and corporate regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in operations management or engineering; MBA preferred
• Minimum 10 years of progressive operations experience or experience in a manufacturing environment, mandatory experience from automotive and electronics / electrical products, mandatory experience / exposure to high level of automation
• Minimum 5 years of management / supervisory experience
• Previous plant manager experience preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of current manufacturing, materials / purchasing and quality assurance methods and practices
• Ability and willingness to objectively tackle complex high-level operational challenges using a practical combination of traditional and innovative methods
• Strategic / macro perspective when analyzing trends or planning for the future
• Tactical understanding of near-term or local impact of broad strategic decisions on operational efficiency
• Professional presence coupled with the confidence and leadership ability to convey need and vision at all levels
• Ability to assess, select and develop top talent
• Self-directing and self-motivating
• Decisive and able to make controversial decisions to achieve greater value
• An active change agent who is willing to take an appropriate amount of risk
• An individual with a strong sense of urgency and strong customer focus
• English (fluent) and French (working knowledge)
It is required to work onsite, at the Montrottier plant, the position could offer relocation / covering moving costs.
