About the role

Credible is looking for a creative, inspiring Senior Director of Product Design to lead our 9-member design and research team to craft exceptional experiences for millions of users. Reporting to Credible's Chief Product Officer, you will manage and mentor our talented design team, play a critical role in the team’s delivery of important product initiatives, help us mature our design processes, and grow our design organization as the business scales.

This opportunity is for an ambitious individual with a background in consumer tech, with a track-record as a high-EQ leader who is both strategically minded and accomplished in leading teams to ship great products. The successful candidate will be eager to step-up and embrace significant responsibility and accountability in a growing company.

The role is full time and compensation will be based on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor our product designers, marketing designers, and user researchers. Foster their growth through development planning, performance management, collaborative work, and real-time design feedback and coaching
• Oversee the design team's efforts across all products, partnering closely with product management and other functional counterparts to ensure strong execution from concept through launch and beyond
• Play an active role in shaping the strategic direction of our products
• Champion design-led OKRs and provide a north-star for the design team to rally around
• Nurture and amplify the team’s supportive, high-performance culture
• Drive connectivity across teams, ensuring a unified, holistic approach to the design of our product experiences
• Establish appropriate systems and processes to enable teams to consistently ship with high quality and velocity as we scale
• Recruit and support the onboarding of new designers as the business grows

Education and Experience:

• 12+ years of progressive experience in UI/UX design or product design, with a focus on internet and/or mobile consumer products is required
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience, ideally leading multiple teams or individuals working across multiple products
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Graphic Design, UI/UX, Web Design, HCI or a related field preferred
• Strong product thinker, with exceptional product judgment and design taste, and an ability to consistently guide teams to successful user experience outcomes that create business value
• Proven track-record of helping others develop their craft in research, interaction design, and visual design, both directly and by employing external resources where appropriate
• A compelling portfolio that demonstrates experience building design teams, managing design processes, leading design projects, crafting design systems, working through complex user flows, and shipping products that are functional, intuitive, and visually compelling
• Experience driving continuous improvement in team processes through periods of growth
• Thrive on collaboration with other teams to accomplish shared goals that address real user needs
