About the role

You will join a rapidly growing group of highly motivated teammates focused on leveraging technology to build a modern, automated accounting function. You will be a crucial member of Syapse as you allow financial information to be shared quickly and accurately with the business. You will be the go-to person for the month-end close. You will be tasked with identifying and implementing improvements to make the close process more efficient and scalable.

What You’ll Accomplish

• Implementation of process around revenue and cost of sales for scalability as business grows
• Improve communication and transparency leading to better informed business decisions
• Full ownership of assigned areas from journal entry preparation, through management reporting and audit

How You’ll Spend Your Days

• Ensure revenue and cost of sales are booked in accordance with GAAP
• Oversee billings and collections in collaboration with will the business
• Journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis for Fixed Assets and Internal Use Software
• Journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis for International Subsidiaries

What you bring to the table

• 80% of this position is focused on Revenue accounting, and cost accounting. (Contract Revenue experience is strongly preferred)
• Demonstrated understanding and ability to explain complex transactions
• Takes initiative to propose and implement improvements
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills
• Ability to be flexible and problem-solve in changing environment
• Self-motivated and takes ownership of assigned areas
• NetSuite experience preferred
• Industry (SaaS) background is strongly preferred
• CPA highly desired but not required
• Public accounting a nice to have

Syapse is a Remote-First company. What does that mean? Simply, we hire team members anywhere regulations allow and assume everyone will work from home full time. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Syapse hires need to be located and perform their job in the United States. Some folks travel, some may eventually gather in person in areas where we have a critical mass of employees, and of course we’re excited to get together as departments and as a whole company throughout the year in person. But you, and the rest of Team Syapse, will mostly work from home.
