Job Description

KPMG is currently seeking a Manager in Customer & Operations for our Consulting practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact with client抯 Funding Department in developing and reviewing Advance Planning Documents (APDs) for department, financial and regulatory compliance
  • Work closely with Program, Finance and Executive Teams to conduct appropriate due diligence including: Reviewing project scope, schedule, proposed budgets and objectives or program outcomes; Alternative considerations, compliance with conditions and standards for receipt of enhanced Federal Financial Participation (FFP), project cost-benefit analysis and cost allocation, along with reconciliation of actual expenditures to date
  • Oversee a matrixed team of Technical Writers, Business Analysts and Financial Analysts in the delivery of concurrent APDs
  • Responsible for the sign-off the narrative and financial component of APDs
  • Assist with the creation of outcome statements, value statements, and/or additional metrics as required by the state or federal partners to assist with cost justification of the respective project
  • Support the Strategic Funding Department with requests and/or questions from the Accounting and Budget Departments including but not limited to APD budgets, CMS-64/CMS-37 reconciliation, general ledger and Chart of Accounts/program code mapping

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years recent professional work experience in State, Local or Federal government preferably one or more years of traditional Health Human Service domains
  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college/university
  • Proven experience with grants management and/or experience with other funding mechanisms; Preferably APD experience with healthcare grants funding, state and higher education research funding, disaster recovery or another federal grant funding is acceptable
  • Experience analyzing general ledger and accounts payable data coupled with the ability to handle changing priorities and multiple concurrent deadlines, while maintaining high quality final products along with building trust and rapport, competent, client-focused, credible, proactive and responsive, values the team environment and work with mutual respect
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, command of the English language, strong presentation skills, diplomacy, perceptual objectivity, active listening and asks the right questions
  • Objectivity, critical thinking, problem solving, curiosity, inquisitiveness, research methodology, review and apply code of federal regulations to maximize potential or approved enhanced federal match rate along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel, along with excellent written and oral business communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel on an as-needed basis and applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, without the need for Visa sponsorship now or in the future
