The Role We’re looking for a Senior Operational Accountant to join our growing Accounting and Finance team. This role will be critical to supporting our growth and will have a significant impact on our company, with the opportunity to work on multiple projects, solve ambiguous problems, and implement novel accounting policies and procedures. The ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment, work cross-functionally, and be adaptable to changing responsibilities and priorities. This position will report to the Accounting Manager & will require a candidate who is willing to closely collaborate with team members based in US Pacific Time & Philippine Time.

What You’ll Do

    • Ensure all financial information is accurately reflected in the general ledger and financial results are in accordance with US GAAP
    • Perform month-end ledger account reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances in ledger accounts in accordance with period-close calendar timelines
    • Create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations, and roll out reconciliation procedures
    • Analyze accounting treatment for certain transactions and handle accounting reconciliations and issues on various types of complex accounts
    • Support our external financial statement audits, including preparation of reconciliations and analyzing data
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
    • Prepare and review materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and ad-hoc basis
    • Establish and maintain a library of key accounting policies and processes consistent with industry practices and US GAAP standards
    • Participate in and lead special, ad-hoc projects related to accounting and finance and prepare for public-company readiness
    • Provide support for company-wide efforts and departmental initiatives to build or improve processes, collaborate cross-functionally, and play a key role in the team’s ability to scale
    • Coach and develop junior team members through their daily responsibilities

What You Bring

    • Industry experience in a start-up preferred
    • CPA preferred
    • Comprehensive accounting experience
    • Experience in working with an ERP system (QuickBooks, Netsuite) is preferred, including successfully enhancing and streamlining processes
    • Experience in utilizing emerging software tools to improve financial operations
    • Experience with technical accounting and financial reporting concepts, including US GAAP and internal control best practices
    • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel and presentation skills
    • Proactively identify and lead new project initiatives
    • Entrepreneurial spirit and solution-oriented, proposing new solutions to problems and processes, and providing management with information key to the decision-making process
    • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to changing responsibilities and priorities
