Our user base has doubled in the last year alone and we have paid over $3.5 billion directly to creators on our platform. In order to support this level of growth and ensure that we have industry-leading policies in place, Patreon is looking for 2 ( two) Content Policy Leads to join our Policy team . Patreon is looking for dynamic individuals to join the Policy team and lead the development, refinement, and implementation of creator-first platform policy.

Location disclaimers - please note! One opening will be based out of New York City or San Francisco or remote (in the United States). One opening will be based out of Dublin, Ireland or Berlin, Germany, or Porto, Portugal.

What you will do:

• Lead Patreon’s internal content policy development across several key verticals and communicate them externally.
• Draft and present risk assessments and make recommendations for policy updates that keep Patreon and its users safe.
• Work with our Head of Creator Policy Engagement to communicate with and involve creators in the policy development process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Trust & Safety, Design, Engineering, GTM, Legal, Payment Ops, and Compliance, as well as possible external partners.
• Collaborate with the Trust & Safety team on internal workflows and policy trainings, and support them in interpreting and applying policies to nuanced situations.
• Build a strong relationship with Risk Engineering to be a voice in how tools can be optimized, specifically with enforcement of platform policies.
• Work with regional policy leads to ensure Patreon is ahead of impending regulations.
• Identify new and emerging trends requiring policy support in the creator space.

Some of the skills and experience you possess:

• 5-7 years in platform policy, public policy, or research at a technology company or in a creative space.
• A public policy, legal, or economics educational background (bachelors required, but advanced degree welcomed).
• Experience drafting platform policies on behalf of, or impacting, an online platform (preferably addressing topics like NSFW content, hate speech, misinformation, CSAM, etc.).
• Professional fluency in English and exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
• Superior strategy development and problem solving skills.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Experience working cross-functionally with teams like Content Moderation, Marketing, User Research, Community & Education.
• Experience crafting original research, translating data into policy insights, and drafting reports.
• A passion for getting creators paid.
• A good sense of humor and a love of creative arts.
