Director, Data Strategy Execution - DevOps

Job Description

KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Data Strategy Execution-DevOps to join our Data Strategy & Operations organization.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing an effective team dedicated to fulfilling the organization’s mission through highly successful program implementation leveraging Cloud Data Lake capabilities, team engagement and continuous improvement; create a culture of transparency and communication throughout the organization
• Lead the development and implementation of Data Capabilities in the Cloud to support KPMG transformational programs/projects; work with the key stakeholders to establish integrated plans for the data workstream of strategic programs including data lake development and business operations enablement
• Identify and articulate technical and operational requirements for new feature developments and platform investments
• Work strategically and proactively within DSO, business stakeholders and IT/Delivery teams to assess, solution and deliver on data engineering use cases; Data Lake roadmap and implementation; develop and oversee data culture and change management strategy
• Interact regularly with delivery partners (on-shore/off-shore teams) and/or department leaders; proactively initiate ideas to improve client service for a specific work product within a department; contribute to department or group objectives, strategy and priorities; set tactical plan for execution of strategic objectives
• Accountable to achieve project or service success metrics; this includes SLA management, work product and review/revisions and business operations acceptance/sign-off, phase gate approvals

Qualifications:

• Minimum ten years of leadership experience in a federated organization with experience in relevant skills and technologies; experienced at leading high performing agile software engineering teams with a history of on-time delivery, especially in an operations and strategic role
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; Master's degree from an accredited college/university is preferred
• Ability to manage change and effectively communicate to teams; advanced knowledge of the broader scope that frames the essential technical area of work with ability to use this knowledge to create incremental value and technical strategy; knowledge in strategic solution delivery models to ensure products and/or services continue to innovate and to drive continuous improvement
• Strong understanding of the complexity of a matrixed professional services firm / partnership; proven ability to lead in a matrixed manner; maintain a flexible schedule due to travel, deadlines and/or duties outside of normal business hours due to global nature of the role; proven track record influencing diverse sets of stakeholders and driving common outcomes
• Experience working with various vendors and evaluating vendor solutions against the business needs, developing proof of concept (POCs) and driving forward pilots, as well as with assessing business use cases across the data supply chain and developing requirements and testing strategies
• Background, from a data perspective, delivering Operational readiness of data products through Cloud Data Lake enterprise transformational programs through entire life cycle; collaborates across departments/functions to deliver high quality products including, data ingestion and enablement to meet business needs; working knowledge with SLA management, work product and review/revisions and acceptance/sign-off, phase gate approvals to enable Business Operations; experience serving as a Product Owner in an agile environment; responsible for prioritization of backlog, story grooming and agile team leadership; overall responsibility and accountability for team deliverables
